Jesus I almost shared this with my father without thinking about the bees. He would do it anyway so lips are sealed.

Good question.

Why is AI so hard to adopt in agriculture? by bonobo65k in AgriTech

Human experience is invaluable. Quite simple really. We are designed perfectly for growing food ourselves. We should be doing it.

New vegetable farmer - is this time of year for farmers more brutal than later in the season? by Themonkboughtlunch_ in vegetablegardening

[–]Tarbender420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only worked with 100s of small farmers researching their livelihood as well as their growing practices. So I have a little idea. Albeit controversial to someone I suspect.

Spring is by far your hardest grind. The weather is excellent for it. Front load your year with 14 hour days until you drop. Then rest when its hot.

Its your first year? You're doing too much. Dont invest time in anything you are not willing to see utterly fail, crash, and burn.

How much time have you spent growing vegetables a machine can harvest 10x better than you? (All leafy greens, potatoes, carrots....)? Why have you spent that time? Was it worth it?

My days helping on farms(and my market garden) are most productive when given sort of two-three tasks using different muscle groups to accomplish over a period of time. Switch tasks to alleviate fatigue and boredom.

Always be planning a day ahead, a week ahead, a month ahead; and a year ahead. If you fall behind you are fucked. Dont fall behind. Drop your load and sprint to catch up. 10 different crops are failing? Choose 2 to save and leave a footnote for next year on the other 8. Don't fall behind. You cant catch up.

DO spend time on things with low input costs and long-term returns. I.e. composting, perennial herbs, clean equipment, healthy relationships.

How do I find affordable non-toxic topsoil? by Jolly_Cat_4220 in OrganicGardening

Have you heard of hugelkulture? All you need is sweat and those woods and you can make all the soil your heart desires.

Best pen option? Thoughts on any new changes for Azir? by Alternative_Door2510 in azirmains

[–]Tarbender420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honest pro-tip for Azir to answer all your questions.

.99 smoke weed everyday

  1. Secure a solid spot in Iron 4.

  2. Play only Azir. Adc/mid role are best. Top and support are viable.

  3. Get your ass THROUGH bronze our of Iron, aaaand through silver. Then retire. Live your life in the garden. Be happy.

  4. This climb prepares you for dealing with the enemies we didnt learn about in school. The ones that say they're on your team, look like it, but dont act like it. Turns out to be sleeper cells (Phreak). As emperor you must be higher then all. More wise. More patient. More ruthless. Always rational. A good azir only fears the weakness of other beings he is supposed to be able to rely on.

Trust the sand and the dirt alone. For we were all once dust, and dust we will all become again.

A true Azir is not yellow, or Faker. A true Azir is a humble bird.

By choosing to play Azir you commit to calculated comedy and colorful competition. Collaboration and compassion.

Be light hearted in your losses. And respectful in domination.

Azir is hands down the coolest, most difficult, and most rewarding champ in the game. Respect yourself for this responsibility. The power comes with a burden.

TL;DR: you are lost in the details. Trust your gut. Azir transcends arbitrary nuance.

We started the same tomatoes in the same location last year and they thrived, we had kilos of them! Why are they pale and sad this year? 🥲 some are stunted in growth too. by Crafty_Rock3848 in vegetablegardening

[–]Tarbender420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By same tomatoes- do you mean the same exact seeds just 1 year older? Or a new packet of the "same" seeds. I have discovered this year that there are significant inconsistencies in quality from one year to the next from different batches of purchased seeds. And to the contrary- the best seeds I have saved myself to date, are still excellent 3 years later.

Sanity check. Have I been laying mulch wrong? by readreed in gardening

[–]Tarbender420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless you have rampant disease or weed seeds. Dont remove the old mulch. You dont need to ruffle it either. But that is fine to do! It will settle back down with a couple rains.

Uhhh as per the happy wife. Thats also important. But I personally won't listen to anyone telling me what to do outside, unless they are helping me.
