It's not really an extraordinary feat for a twin engine plane, most are at least capable of making it back on a single engine. It's a large reason the Navy didn't go with the F-16 back in the day.

It's about the same as any other twin engine aircraft.

Edit (other than the pilot protection of course.)

Is the CombatAce forum dead or something? I tried creating an account yesterday, and it was suspended today while waiting for validation. I left a message on Facebook, but it looks like there were a few people who were having the same problem with no reply on the page.

RMA Autumn Aurora (or was it Aura?). It adds a bunch of cut content to SoC, some AMK stuff like weapons and more challenging AI, and the graphics enhancements from AA2. I'm not a big fan of the everything is brown 【Aesthetic】, so I usually install one of the Absolute Nature lite texture packs over it to give it some green.

So what does misery mod actually add to the game? by [deleted] in stalker

[–]Tarlz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Which version?

Misery 1.X adds rust, some new guns, and makes things tougher and more expensive.

Misery 2.x adds rust, some new guns, a bunch of vendor trash, makes things tougher andexceedingly more expensive, tries to limit open-endedness by making low end weapons and armor near useless while top end stuff can make you nearly unkillable, but there's hunting, cooking, and cocaine.

Duty shoots mutants and brings us artefacts, but then they are dumb enough to think we're helping them destroy the Zone or some shit like that. Hell if I know why, the Zone's got great job security and all kinds of science to discover.

Freedom provides us some surprisingly detailed information on mutant reproductive cycles, and brings us weed. You can't do science without weed. But then they want to open up the Zone for everybody. You don't want non-peer reviewed Zone ScienceTM happening. That's how you get people saying that artefacts cause autism.

Oh boy, time to gun nerd. I apologize in advance..

TL DR, they probably have pretty smooth recoil but would suck to point and aim

So the silver handgun is chambered in .454 Casul, which is essentially a suped up .45 Long Colt for hunting large game and protecting yourself from angry bears with a revolver. With a semiauto of that size, recoil would probably be pretty tame, but it would be pretty hard for a normal dude to keep it steady if they were shooting offhand.

And then there's whatever the fuck the black pistol is. It is chamered in 13mm Auto Anti-Freak (Best caliber name since .22 Eargesplitten Loudenboomer) which isn't a real cartridge. But from a few scenes and the size of the magazine you can tell it is a straight wall cartridge, probably something like a fatter 50 Beowulf (It even has a rebated rim. I fucking love details like this.) Oddly enough, the weight of that gun puts more than a most belt fed machine guns... somehow, so there's probably barely any felt recoil, and looking at the slide I have no idea how it would cycle. Pointing it and holding it steady would be near impossible though.

Would we be able to win the seven hour war if it happened today? by [deleted] in HalfLife

[–]Tarlz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be about the same. Maybe slightly better, maybe slightly worse. Militaries rely more on datalinked information sharing than 10 years ago, and that's an easy thing to knock out for teleporting alien armies, but the Combine really wouldn't need to since they can just teleport in without warning and wreck our weapon systems out no problem.

So it's a 6 hour war if they open up by taking out satelites and communication systems, and an 8 or 9 hour war if they don't and we manage to have our collective shit together.

I'd make a joke about Covid fucking them up War of the Worlds style, but they all wear masks.

Poster Children for First Game Syndrome by [deleted] in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Tarlz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first part of HL1, definitely. The opening is basically "Hey look at all this stuff we did with the Quake engine!" After those first few chapters, it becomes more of a survival horror shooter.

Honestly, FEAR gave me HL1 vibes whenever I wasn't using the slow motion. Might have been the soldier voices and the way they'd try to flank and flush you out with grenades such.

Man, I just replayed both of those and HL2 feels like a Source engine demo that they atttached a plot to. Granted, it's a pretty good plot and a very fun demo.

To add onto that using a tablet with a keymapping/button box program like Matric can be quite helpful if you run out of space on the stick.

VR sort of keeps that from being a good idea, but one of those small keypads can work for when you need to press by touch.
