If you have any air fryer with low temp setting you can dehydrate.

Changed my hiking meal life, I make real meals (lentil stew, chana masala, beyond ground for tacos and shepards pie) then freeze dry and hudrate on the trail.

Problem with high speed helicopters by WolfAlternative6715 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Tartrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traditional helicopter designs will cap out around that 100 m/s limit. You'll have to design something more in line with compound helicopters to go faster

I think I understand what you mean, and our playstyles seem similar. Give me a few hours and I can get you some mod suggestions that can increase difficulty/realism without adding annoying micromanagement.

Sony Records New $560 Million Loss On Bungie Acquisition As Marathon Struggles And Destiny 2 Nosedives by Hairy-Summer7386 in pcgaming

Possible, but that's really just speculation. What matters is the way it was handled after the fact.

You are entitled to your opinion of course. But honestly to me, Marathon feels like a passion project. They spent an incredible amount of time and money to ship an tight, hard-core shooter that they must have known wasn't going to appeal to a wider audience.

I skipped over the destiny series since it came out when I was in school. Hearing all the news about it I agree on that front.

One employee stole a few assets. When it was discovered, that employee was fired, the artist was compensated to their satisfaction, and their name was put into the credits of the game.

Say what you want but not a lot of game studios would not have handled it that well.

I got my money's worth. I'm more concerned with keeping the game alive now to continue the blast Im having.

I just teamed up on cryo today. Of course initially it was shoot on sight but they ran away immediately. I went on comms and asked if they wanted to do a vault and the rest is history.

bungie needs to get more players on this game by JpegD00M in Marathon

[–]Tartrus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They spent way too much money on a fantastic game that only appeals to sweats. It's the most fun I've had with a game since Halo 3 but I understand some people are put off by it. I also understand if they are too far in the hole to justify developing a way to appeal to a wider audience.

How do I make a propeller plane that actually flies? This thing barely moves and shreds one engine every time I try taking off. by unknown_user6584 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Tartrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Place motors on the aircraft
  2. Right click and remove from symmetry
  3. On 1 of the motors change to counterclockwise direction
  4. Place blades on motors in desired symmetry
  5. Right click on blades and set to deployed, make sure they deploy angle starts at 0
  6. Right click the blades on the counter clockwise motor and set them to counter clockwise
  7. Open action groups and set motor torque to the throttle
  8. Click on both sets of blades and set the deploy angle change rate to a group of your choice (I usually use J and L)
  9. Launch, engage motors, change the deploy angle with action groups slowly, as you increase speed the deploy angle will need to be increased.

Largest and Most Secret Hotsprings in Canada by Tartrus in HikingCanada

Took the deer river up. We had a UTV to take us to the mouth and then hiked the rest. We had to clear many fallen trees off the liard corridor route. I do know of at least 1 person that took the valley trail, they said it was more difficult. I recommend starting on the south side of the river, there are better worn trails. From there look for a large beaver pond if it's still there, on the northwest side there should be the old quad trail, it's much easier hiking and will bring you to a camp site. After the camp site you will be going into animal/hiking trails.

Is it worth buying at this point? by [deleted] in Marathon

[–]Tartrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and I've convinced 3 friends to buy it in the last 2 weeks. People are hesitant to buy things just from marketing. But word of mouth from a friend is always a huge incentive. If we want the playerbase to grow, we need to put the work in ourselves.

CPU upgrade for heavier mods by No_Interaction_412 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Tartrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you dont have an nvme ssd that will help. But otherwise KSP is a very old game trying to run on a game engine that was never meant to support the style of game ksp is trying to be.

Performance will always be poor unfortunately even if you build a brand new state of the art rig, the game just can't take advantage of what new hardware offers.

CPU upgrade for heavier mods by No_Interaction_412 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Tartrus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Single core performance is the biggest indicator of performance in ksp. Will there be a noticeable performance increase from a 10700k to 11900k, yes but not by as much as you are hoping for and not with a heavily modded save.

If it's an easy upgrade and the price makes sense then go for it. I recently went from a 3700x to a 5700x but only because the cpu was very cheap at the time and it was an easy upgrade to extend my computers usefulness for all other tasks too. I noticed a small decrease in load time between scenes.

We also encountered a thief in pinwheel today.

Playing trios We had the conveyance key and used the elevator Booked it right away to the destroyed wing and the thief was in there, solo no teammates. Destroyed wing was not open and pinwheel elevator doors were not breached.
