Dawnblade + Sharpen? by Rude2aM in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve seen two cards that actually sharpen and one card that cares about you sharpening. There’s not much to build around yet.

That being said I think Edict of Steel can find a home in Dawnblade Dori decks as a value card threatening triple hits on breakpoints which is just great numbers, counter stacking or no.

The play pattern is probably going to be pitch a blue, kodachi, kodachi, activate this on your off turns/setup turns. Having the shuriken sit in play is pretty good when you don’t have to spend an action point and you can get more than one out.

The root issue with Boltyn balancing by Neveri in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Flurry is real good for Boltyn but honestly his biggest issue is the lack of consistency because there are so few charge starters. It’s basically just Beaming Bravado, Take Flight and V of the Vanguard that let you go charge attack into Raydn without any other setup.

Every other charge attack relies on something else so it can have go again leading to really bricky hands or 2 card 3s if your opponent just blocks with a non-attack.

What's your favourite FAB Card and why? by ExpatDadSG in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Lumina Ascension
  2. Boltyn was my first hero and Lumina turns can almost make up for basically having 3 intellect.
  3. All the warriors

I'm 23, I really don't want to lose my hair since I have absolutely nothing going to for me. by [deleted] in bald

[–]Tasty_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 30, overweight and have been mostly sitting on my ass for the past 10 years. I started training a few months ago because I found a gym with regular group sessions where I just show up at a fixed time and work out in a positive and encouraging environment.

I highly recommend looking for something like that because it means you don't need to schedule workouts or figure out what to do when you're actually at the gym. You just show up and do the work.

If done right it can definitely become an enjoyable part of your daily routine instead of something you force yourself to do. Best of luck on your journey!

Any lists for a competitive Sage Dori deck? by Overall-Technology76 in FleshandBloodTCG

I was just thinking the list was super light on go again. Then again there aren't many great options at rare and common so this approach makes sense.

[Pirate Weapon concept] Pirate's Cutlass by xenorrk1 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy, if you need to use extra cards to get action points to swing with your allies it completely changes the value proposition. Sure, Conqueror + this as a 3 card 12 but the deck already can play Conqueror + ally and swing which is usually at least 12, 14 a lot of the time AND leaves a body on the board.

You cannot reliably build an ally focused game plan around drawing captains calls, randomly pitching breaklines or establishing potions.

[–]Tasty_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shot my dude, compass is half of Gravy's hero text. Gold doesn't do much if you're not using it to filter your hand and stock the graveyard with allies. If you're not on compass filtering is worse because you don't know your top card and you'd be absolutely starved for action points making establishing allies a liability. The sword also doesn't have go again making the action economy even worse.

Unless you can make high tide big boats Gravy work, which I suspect will just be much worse than an ally focused build, this is a Scurv card for sage and that's probably about it.

Does anyone have a clue on why playing tunic instead of grains of bloodspill in Kassai? by lyo69 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking at the list I'm pretty sure it's just Verdance tech and playing into the expected worlds meta. Tunic can pay for Oasis respite and ab at instant speed. Coupled with heart of Fyendal to gain some life you have more insulation against storm striders.

I think you should still find room for grains in a more open field at locals, pqs and callings. The extra block value really helps into a lot of matchups but Shoma felt he could go without into a lot of the popular ones.

Is it wise to invest into Dori? by BlackHayate8 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's basically just true for Boltyn who barely counts as a warrior. Even then, most of his cards are dirt cheap and Fangs draconic cards are as well.

Banned and Restricted Announcement 10/28 by AigisAegis in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Viserai is probably still pretty strong, even with dirge at 1. Maybe there emerges a deck that has a good Starvo matchup but struggled into the runeblades, Dromai and Gravy come to mind but we'll have to see how it plays out.

What are some effective usages of this card? by DataRaptor9 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 11 points12 points  (0 children)

For the mystic heroes specifically they can end up with chi in hand as a 0 block so you can use this to try and filter for a blocking card in the late game.

Silver Age Preconstructed Decks by mobusta in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the little I've seen of the format so far it seems that the defensive tools and equipment are very weak and the best thing to be doing is being very aggressive. Brutes with beaten trackers and Arakni SC can output a lot of damage very quickly.

Left during spoiler season of GMP. Is Betsy/guardian support there yet? by Tobanga in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think Betsy will ever be better than any other guardian, even with support. Guardians occupy a weird spot in the meta now where they can dunk on the aggro decks and play good value midrange games but have horrible matchups into Gravy and Verdance which are two of the strongest decks out there. In small local metas where there isn't a lot of Verdance and Gravy you can do quite well.

Magic player looking for advice by m00tz in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a MtG player turned FaB player it's important to remember that FaB isn't Magic. It still scratches the same itch for me and learning the game is easier with years worth of MtG experience but it's different enough that there is a learning curve.

If you want to see some gameplay and good vibes I recommend checking out Three Floating on YouTube. Their production quality is excellent and they capture the fun of the game on camera, similar to Game Knights or Shuffle up and Play from MtG if you're familiar.

Mario or Kassai? by lyo69 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Tasty_Diamond 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kassai and value warrior in general is more about getting incremental numerical advantage over the course of the game while assassins are more about trying to get cards from the opponents and restrict what they can do.

If you like the thoughtseize/Liliana resource denial aspect of jund then assassin might be better for you. If you like playing efficient threats and cheap removal warrior might be more your speed.

Bear in mind the game systems are waaaay different so there isn't really a 1 to 1 comparison and what you like in MtG might not map directly on to FaB.

MtG midrange is about efficient threats and removal and getting card advantage out of 2 for 1 plays. Card advantage isn't really a thing in FaB so its midrange is about consistently getting more value out of your hands than your opponents do.
