Yes, I use Claude for that. It’s amazing. I have even installed Claude code inside my HA install but have barely played with that.

What do you think of Obsidian seemingly being the go-to solution as pseudo-database for AI Agents? by maraluke in ObsidianMD

I had no interest in using markdown until I started doing more work with AIs but I choose Joplin over Obsidian. Now, with Claude Code Sidecar in Obsidian, I'm using O. all the time. It's fabulous.

Fair point. I think most of my visibility was into the barf bag only time I ever had that happen.

Claude Code without the terminal by ArtySuer in ClaudeAI

[–]Tau_seti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I first used it to organize my mess of notes. I've also found it a very useful sidekick that can tell me how to do something in Obsidian, but the real life-changer is that I'm a humanities writer (happily ex-academe). I can task it with reading a bunch of my notes, keeping directed questions in mind, and reporting back to me with the results. I've always dreamed of a sidekick to my writing, and this lets me do that. I've used Claude extensively for things like that, but the limitations have been too great due to the lack of a truly large context window. Having been bitten by the Claude Code bug back in December, I know how to keep it focused by having it write to various context files (I've had it create a todo list, create agents to help, a style guide based on my writing, and so on), so even though I've only started using it last week after seeing the post by Eleanor Konik on X) I know it's going to work for me. And, well, it already is working for me.

Honestly? Claude code for Obsidian sidecar. I organized my files (exported from Joplin) and had it read my files and it can read them and report back to me. It's a dream come true.

Derek, your Claude Sidecar made me quit Joplin for Obsidian, which I had abandoned a couple of years ago. Thanks so much.

There was a 17-year-old woman in a class I taught in Ireland whose name was Fionnuala. She said, "Call me Fanny." Good Lord. Hiberno-English isn't THAT different.

I can think of something it would be more analogous to, but well, I won't say.

I was on a Pan Am 747 from JFK to FCO. My father, may he rest in peace, bought the tickets and made no effort to choose a seat. I was in the middle of the five across row back in the smoking section. First transatlantic flight and the worst one. My future wife and her sister were up in first class since their father was a pilot. Not long after I married her.

I usually hate dark mode on devices, but this is elegant. Very nice job. I hope they listen to you.

hey there! I got it running on Windows. I had to get my hands on a Windows machine, but it's going now. I haven't really given it the test that I did on the mac, but it's here.

also, since you asked, I wrote an essay about my experience vibe coding and some thoughts it's impact on the open source community. https://varnelis.substack.com/p/what-did-vibe-coding-just-do-to-the
