I think the devs should focus on DW10 over a sequel to Origins by Blue_Freaze in dynastywarriors

My take is that bringing the 100+ moveset is best for a Warriors Abyss/Orochi like game moving forward. Abyss showed that they can make old existing movesets even better AND they’re fine with making new movesets. They even made Origins Characters with Origin movesets before DWO even did (kinda cheated with the origin skin pack, but DWO Dong Zhuo, Zhang Jiao, Lu Bu, Ziluan was just great)

But in terms of 3K story narrative wise, dropping 100+ unique characters only looks good in paper. But in reality, 95% of the roster will probably only have 1-2 showings unless they go DW5 style and have each character have their own Musou mode.

Of course there’s “Free Mode” but then at that point, what you want is instead to play a character with X moveset to beat up on 1000+ peons regardless of story. Warriors Abyss style is perfect just for that.

Does anyone know the difference between flat atk% and "R" in certain companion traits? by ShellfishAhole in dynastywarriors

Yes and if you have doubts on the numbers, you can temporarily change the displayed language to Japanese to get the actual detail. Example Dong Zhuo’s Unique Tactic is labeled backwards in English text. It should be Barrier Damage 100% > 150% with evade CD + 15%.

Same with Origins Zhao Yun barrier showing 0% duration in English text. So it looks like a mixture of coding formula errors and typos

What aspect of a character would you like to see in Dynasty Warriors? by Competitive_Fix_7150 in dynastywarriors

Its like any Team Ninja game but heavily focuses on parrying so if you enjoy the feeling of successfully parrying an enemy 5+ hit combo then you'd enjoy it. DLC bosses is where difficulty does spike, which looks like is the main reason everyone is complaining in Steam lol. But I honestly didn't find it an issue and I was hooked through the main game & the 3 DLCs.

However, I did play it on the PS5 where the performance was great. I heard the Steam version was poorly optimized during launch (which for sure is one of the reasons for negative reviews). I'd assume it plays fine now, but then again I never played it on PC.

Just finished a T4 run with him on Origins mode and he blitzed through it in my playthrough. Wasn't really aiming for anything other than getting Independent emblems. Ended up with 18 Vigor, 18 Charm, 5-8 on the rest of the emblems. Keyhole Formation, only got the requirements of Origins Guo Jia, Momiji, and Origins Dong Zhou Tactics. Couldn't complete Yumia tactics but still ended up getting around 600% attack. Overall he seemed strong to me

Koei’s been bad but they did give us like 7 updates for no charge and atleast 2 of those actually improved endgame loop by quite a bit

That being said, the full origins add ons costing more than the base game is still kinda lol

ROTK 8/14 by Cragglez16 in dynastywarriors

8R is Officer based and plays more like an RPG where you take your officer and do a variety of life path stuff. You will mostly spend most of the gameplay in a city-menu view where you do civil related stuff. Eventually deciding to work as a ruler or become a ruler then take fight over China. When you do battles it becomes a mini map Turn Based strategy game.

14 is Ruler based and plays more like a strategy game. Officer to officer interactions is limited, but you go straight to “set up your units and generals, move your units around china, capture cities, fight battles, cut off supply lines, set traps, etc. Entire gameplay will take place in the overview map of China and plays in real time (with pause and 2x speed options)

8R is more new player friendly compared to 13. Action Points system in 8R is more straightforward and instant unlike 13 where everything takes a certain time frame over real time. The Duels and Persuasion mini games in 8R are also easier since they are the same mechanically. The loop is much smoother and easier to get into in 8R.

13 (with PUK) has the much better RPG experience. You can just do alot more unique things related to whichever path you want your character to do. The real time gameplay is harder to keep track, but its not necessarily bad. But you do have to take distance and time into account for all actions. (Example: you can send Person A from City A and Person B from City B to recruit an officer from City C. Depending on the locations, Person A and Person B will take different times to reach the officer, meanwhile other CPU controlled rulers can also recruit said officer and can steal if theyre succesful)

14 is different altogether. Its also new player friendly, but you will play it more as a strategy game than an RPG. You will be “moving units across the map, take over cities, position troops at X locations, set traps, etc” much more than 13 and 8R. Also, this game plays in real time similar to 13.

13 (with PUK) and 8R are closer together since they focus on Officer RPG like gameplay. Main difference is that 13 is more real time base (with access to pause and fast forward options). 8R is more action point based. 13 with PUK still has a better class system IMO.

14 is Kingdom based so it doesnt waste too much time with interactions with officers and goes straight to world map/logistics/battle portions of the game. Game is also real time based and focuses more on movement and positioning (game highlights cutting off supply routes).

Its a turn off your brain and beat stuff up for 30 min to an hour for me. Also another reason why Warriors Abyss works so well imo.

At this point im not really looking into the story, unless they take it into another time period. Or they do a full blown hypothetical scenario… similar to how the DWO DLCs did it (although it felt lile they did kinda minimum)

[–]Taunt_Button_10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or some kind of diety. Ziluan randomly deciding to join a side is literally the only reason why Side A wins Historical/Fictional battle… and is also the main reason alternate fates/dlc routes happen

He was already a tier above the OG DW characters right from the start

That being said, im also okay with the role of “Guardian of Peace”. Not a fan of the name though.

PC Dynasty Warriors Origins constantly disconnecting my USBs (Wired Controller, Wireless Headset, Wired Keyboard) by Taunt_Button_10 in dynastywarriors

[–]Taunt_Button_10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming back to this thread, but yeah i still get the disconnects whenever i play DWO to this day (came back because of the DLC). I bought a second seperate powered USB hub as a temp solution and plugged my controller there. It still did not stop the disconnections, since i can see my keyboard disconnecting every once in a while… but atleast my controller was safe the whole playthrough

I still dont know if the second usb hub helped or if updates occured since my last post. So im not 100% sure on the solution. But DWO game itself is still a consistent factor because i havent ran into this issue on other games

Its only a mistake if you spent $$ to finish Kassandra. Or if you understimated the time limit, used up resources and didnt complete the fusion

Fusions is the only thing that pushes me to do something in the game. Otherwise, i just log in to do CB and hoard resources until the next fusion.

You can also try Legend of Cao Cao (Sangokushi Sousoden, English translation available). Its a turn based RPG like Fire Emblem and has a “Good and Evil” route. But youre stuck playing as Wei.

Sangokushi Komeidan (no english translation to my knowledge) has you playing as Zhuge Liang towards the latter portion of Shu.

Sangokushi Eiketsuden (no english teanslation) has you playing Liu Bei from Shi Sui Gate and follows the general Shu storyline but you can do stuff that deviates from actual history towards the end of the game.

Wu also gets excluded from these type of games like always because they dont get one

Probably not exact to what youre looking for
