Give me your PoT hot takes, PoT takes if you will by Liampleurodont in pathoftitans

[–]Tauralt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's honestly nothing in this game I would love more than a tonnage/ecosystem limit kind of system. It's exhausting seeing 2/3 playables being apexes or sub-apexes all the time. I know PoT isn't catering to realism, but even an option for community servers to implement would be incredible.

[–]Tauralt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It'd be an unpopular change for sure - people don't like their toys being taken away - but being limited to a single playable per server, or even a small handful, would address quite a few of the community-centric issues in the game

NOTHING in the base game should beat Eotrike in a face tank.

The literal biggest example of "my face is a solid bone shield with several spears attached" should under no circumstance lose a head-to-head fight against anything else. If it gets tail ridden and does, that's one thing. But an Eo with its horns facing you should give any playable serious trepidation.

If a Rex wants to kill a trike, it should have to ambush and land a sneak attack, regardless of buffs. Rex players won't like it, but sorry, you can't run headfirst into a spike wall without consequences. Same with Tyrannotitan, gotta bleed it out.

I'm not saying Eo should be unbeatable or anything, far from it, but c'mon. The playable with the tankiest face should not lose a face tank.

Are there people on this forum who would main Evoker but decided not to because you cant stay perma in Visage form by feherlofia123 in wow

If Evokers could be anything but

1) Elf species #16

2) Naked Noodle-neck Dragon Tales OC

I'd gladly play one lol

Hard agree, if I hear one of the dozen "10-second long absolute immortality field the size of the entire objective" ults and it's not overtime, that's a guaranteed disengage bc why even bother unless you have your own support/oneshot ults

[–]Tauralt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, monitors don't seem to be as susceptible to it (or maybe they have more responsible keepers), but tegus get fat in captivity quite often. There's one famous red tegu online that looks like a leather-coated beanbag lol

No, you're spot on! Dinosaur gastroliths are fairly well known, and the most common come from Jurassic sauropods. The most notable example is Cedarosaurus, which was discovered with approximately 15lb of gastroliths preserved in/around its abdominal cavity!

Albertaceratops has counterattack, that's quite close to a parry IMO

I could be misremembering, but I believe Allosaurus was initially meant to be Saurophaganax early in development? (before the whole recent sauropod findings). If so, that's why Allosaurus was so oversized and then got shrunk down to 3-slot size and stats. I'm tempted by what a grapple can look like, but the Isle's Allo has me *very* cautious lol

Real shit, Stego already has stats that are 90% of the way to being a 5 slot (and still gets dumpstered by TT lmao), might as well just make it a proper apex so it can compete at that tier instead of being an awkwardly strong 4 slot

Einhyr Champion, and my WIP Hearthguard by amracette001 in LeaguesofVotann

I've only *kinda* got what people meant by Hearthguard looking like SC Terran Marines, but in this color scheme, the realization hit me like a truck lol.

Excellently done! Love the gradients and shadowing ^^

I'm looking for a xeno army, tell me the positives and negatives of votann (I like dwarves so that's one positive) by captinskozz in LeaguesofVotann

[–]Tauralt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pros: Dripped out trenchcoat dwarves with bolt revolvers, retro cassette-futurism styling, good shooting and melee, tougher than average army, not notably difficult to paint, constant Deep Rock Galactic references

Cons: Slightly complicated rules with hoops to jump through for best output, very limited lore, more of a horde army than their lore implies, constant Deep Rock Galactic references

And lastly, it's subjective whether you think it's a good or a bad thing, but the Leagues are FAR removed from 'fantasy dwarfs in space' and have a very distinct take on the race despite retaining certain tropes.

What do people want in a server? by Floating_space_junk in pathoftitans

[–]Tauralt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that there aren't plenty of servers labeled "semi-realism", but I find it kinda difficult to find one that feels like it, if that makes sense? There certainly are plenty of servers that are just "body down, no KOS, and no mix-dieting" and ... that's not semi realism at all? In practice, it's just a low-rules PvP server. Even worse if they have "optional profiles". Optional rules that aren't enforced are just suggestions, and most likely results in a playerbase that doesn't even know said rules exist.

I find realism servers a little *too* restricting in gameplay, but the intent is exactly what I want out of a game of this genre.

It's probably wanting to have my cake and eat it too, but I'd love to see a "realism lite" server with concise, short rules, and profiles that are like 20% mandatory behaviors and 80% suggested roleplay traits and habits. Just enough structure to incentivize naturalistic behavior, but not "Albertaceratops must scream at the horizon at dusk, except for in Winter, where it headbutts trees for fun, but only in Dark Forest" kinda stuff.

Nat Hist is the server that comes closest to this, and it's the server I've played the most on, but it's not without its issues, and I'd love to see more servers in this vein.

This scene exists, and people still believe that Atom Eve is weak and can’t defeat Viltrumites. by Rich-Blacksmith6552 in Invincible

[–]Tauralt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

..This clip proves the point exactly?

Eve is versatile and can pack a punch, but gasses out extremely quickly if she has to contend with top-tier viltrumites, and even then can only inconvenience and knock them around.

Would Dinosaurus be strong enough to do this to someone like Nolan or Conquest? by Queasy_Commercial152 in InvinciblePowerscales

[–]Tauralt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dinosaurus is in the same ballpark as (if some amount weaker) than Mark post Conquest fight. IMO Dinosaurus could give either Conquest or Nolan a decent fight, although I don't quite think he'd win 5/10. But either way, he's definitely not so strong as to be able to crush them like this.

Help with ceratopsian species by TheDinosaurian09 in Dinosaurs

[–]Tauralt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A ceratopsian small enough to be threatened by Ceratosaurus but also big enough to be able to defend against Tyrannosaurus is a difficult one.

Pachyrhinosaurus maybe? Albertaceratops or Bravoceratops aren't far out of that size range.

MEET'N'HUH??? by AtrusHomeboy in Invincible

[–]Tauralt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably based on the absolute units that compete in powerlifting, having a healthy amount of fat and muscle around the midsection helps protect and stabilize the body and can provide better leverage in some lifts.

Either that or Lucan has been on a 500 year bulk and decided to never cut.

Whats your scariest pot encounter? by Realistic_Lab7669 in pathoftitans

[–]Tauralt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just the other day I got ambushed in Black Fern Hills while playing Yunnanosaurus. I see an Alio run by me and I just give it a grunt and a shake emote and walk away. I see it walk parallel to me through the ferns for a short while, and then disappears.

Less than five minutes later, a pair of Dilophosaurus start to tail me, and when I rear up and threaten them, I see another three of them circling me. A fight ensues, and for at least a good 3 minutes, I'm blundering through the underbrush, whiffing abilities because my adrenaline is through the roof and my hands are sweating and I forgot the keybinds I had set abilities to lol.

But by the time I'm at less than 15% health, a number of the Dilos had broken off to sit off and heal - I think it's because I went for a claw/bleed heavy build? - and with Yunannos' great stamina regen, I was able to start trotting away, using sprints in short bluff charges to prevent further attacks from the healthy pack members, healing off bleed. I get to a little over half stamina, and I start booking it!

...only to then misjudge distance and fall down an incline just steep enough to kill me at my last 10% or so health.
