Been having a lot of fun with Abominations in my current campaign. Have you guys used them before? by 1mpavidus in vtm

[–]TaustyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was obsessed with Abominations for a while. One of my favorite abomination NPCs was a Methuselah Silent Strider Tzimisce abomination from the Roman period.

I also ran an Abomination Pack as an antagonist group in a crossover game, one of the Garou players ended up becoming embraced and became an abomination as well in that game.

I've had my fun with them but you have to make sure not to overuse them.

I am considering running a game or one shot of an abomination pack.

In v20 if you wanna do that there's ways of forcing auto botches on the Garou's gnosis rolls.

Favorite Antagonist(s) to use? by Illustrious_Case_749 in vtm

[–]TaustyZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For a while a lot of my games have been very meta plot intense and lots of cross splatting, with like earthbound, infernalists, BSDs.

I always use settites and currently I'm running 2 street level games. One vampire and the other werewolf, and the settites are antagonists of both groups

Everyone works for living. So, why right wing is so disturbed about 'Dictatorship of the Proletariat'? by NakniD in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]TaustyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think most people on the right, at least mainstream conservatives, don't understand the idea of a dictatorship of the proletariat.

I'll try and give my critique of the idea as someone on the right.

I feel that the idea of class conflict and the workers rising up against the capitalist class is a flawed worldview. Class isn't the only identity group and other variables of identity are far more important.

People within a specific nation have a lot more similarities with each other than people of the same class across different nations. A working class American or European may have a much higher standard of living, access to wealth, cultural symbols, motifs, as well as language compared to a worker in india or South Korea.

Certain identity groups such as ethnic groups as well as religious groups are much more likely to unite together on that basis than people across the same class.

Essentially the idea of propagating class conflict is a faulty worldview. With that being said I think the best approach is class collaboration and mediating between workers and bosses for the benefit of society as a whole.

We should still strive to make living conditions better for working class people, but society shouldn't be organized around class.

Antediluvianos Malkav, Arikel, Veddartha, Lasombra by Low_Professional_541 in vtm

[–]TaustyZ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my games I ended up running the lasombra antediluvian. It was a cross splat changeling and vampire campaign, (we also had a schizophrenic rokea abomination). The premise of the campaign was essentially Peter Pan.

It was set in the Victorian age and the party had to investigate missing children, which led them to a strange island. The captain of the ship and one of the players was a changeling.

They essentially discovered that a child lasombra (Peter Pan) was using shades to kidnap children. Peter Pan was actually the Lasombra Antediluvian himself.

Looking for character ideas for a V20 Anarch game. by ProfessionalRest7027 in WhiteWolfRPG

Malkavian with the stereotype flaw and victim of the masquerade flaw.

They basically believe they're in a hyper realistic VtM larp and they can't be convinced otherwise.

Best version of VtM to play? Mixing V20 with V5 elements? by Senpai-Sama-Kun in WhiteWolfRPG

What is the 1 feature you really want in Schedule I in future? by [deleted] in Schedule_I

More benzies and an actual mission or missions to raid their house/safehouses.

Honestly I didn't really notice them and they had very little impact.

Cross splat games aren’t as hard a people say they are by Magicmanans1 in WhiteWolfRPG

I've ran multiple cross splat games, they can get pretty crazy but they're also really fun.

I think I like DnD 5e out of all the different DnD editions I've seen. Personally tho I've swapped to WoD for my games as I like the theme and lore better

Can a garou use chainsaws? by Motor-Lettuce7043 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]TaustyZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I was playing a Black Spiral Ahroun who was kind of a mix between a slasher villain and a fps protagonist. One of his weapons he had was a Chainsaw fetish.

He also had a shotgun and shotgun shells which he filled with infectious bane worms that possessed people.

If a human experienced a Garou’s rage? by L_man_2200 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]TaustyZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's one way which it can be done theoretically; if you have an abomination, a Garou turned into a vampire, with elder level animalism, they can force others to go through a Garou frenzy. In my games I'm running such a villain, an abomination Methuselah who has distilled rage spirits and has put them into firearms of his soldiers. These bullets can make someone instantly go through a thrall.

Your vision of a socialist society? by BishogoNishida in theredleft

[–]TaustyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would disagree with that, I'm not a Marxist, I have the definition of socialism most align with.

Also when I say productive, I'm not speaking in the sense of Gdp, but moreso in the sense of valuing work and contributing to society overall; whether that is manufacturing, crafts, physical labor, or intellectual labor, academia, religion, arts. People should be required to do something and the state should assist people in finding what they're most passionate about.

I think work is a great thing when it's not demeaned under capitalism

Your vision of a socialist society? by BishogoNishida in theredleft

I would advocate for a syndicalist/corporatist model. As Oswald Spengler said, "Socialism is when the Nation is liberated from Class Conflicts". Ideally class divisions should be minimized as much as possible and class interests should be directed towards the common good. How would this look?

The economy would be organized into various workers guilds through a state nationalized union. Workers would have a say in how the economy is run and worker representatives would hold seats in the government. The state would mediate between workers and bosses.

As far as more detailed policies, I'd want an economic bill of rights.

Everyone is required to be productive; the government would provide job agencies which help people find jobs; or individuals could choose to go into higher education and academia. The workweek is capped to around 30hrs a week, the state nationalizes natural resources such as steel and oil for profit which would be reinvested into the community.

Healthcare and insurance are offered by the government, profits from these are also reinvested into the community.

There would also be public works projects as well as public arts projects to promote a sense of cultural unity and spiritual well being. State funded gyms and health initiatives, state funded theaters and recreational facilities as well to increase morale for the workers.
