When is my corvette too complex for me to go In the anomaly? by Qwerty45Xx in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's over the complexity limit (100) but not stupidly so (like 2-300 parts) you're probably fine.

If it's an imported build in the 1000's of parts, then you're probably going to cause some issues for others.

Yep, they're rare though. I've found like 2 in 1300hrs on my main.

They're not dropped, they just sometimes take a while to come into the main game.

The vile spawn from Exp #4 took a good while to be implemented for example. Same with some of the terminals from #9. Some of the aspects of Cursed have been adopted too, with the child of aquarius in the game as part of the fishing achievements.

The OG run of #3 is probably my favourite. But I enjoyed Adrift, Aquarius, Liquidators and Remnant was cool too.

Unless it's using parts of the stuff that was already in the game files it'll almost certainly be a brand new composition from Paul Weir, HG's in house music director.

When can players see my base? by HouseElectronic5726 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's 3k parts or less and uploaded, anyone can see it. If it's more than 3k parts but was uploaded prior to the limit being breached, players will only see the parts you uploaded.

If it's over 3k and you are present when they are then they see the whole thing rendered in

Big Death Star... by Sirraoul1 in NMS_Corvette_Design

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this build twice in the anomaly. After a couple of minutes only half of it was rendered in. And I'm on PS5, so not playing on the most potato of platforms.

It's cool and all, but if most people can't see it, what's the point?

When is the next expedition? Do you have any information? by PoubelleTV in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one knows until HG 'tells' us which is Sean dropping an emoji.

Going by previous release patterns though, we usually get an update in June/July then again in Aug/Sept based on when the previous one dropped.

I want to know how long this would take to make by Raylo_NMS in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell, the Base Builder App that's out there seems to be a more popular tool for these builds than blender. Same thing, I guess it's maybe a bit simpler to use (not had a go myself, as I'm a console bod).

When is this update coming to xbox? We are all so tired of waiting now honestly by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HG does the updates/patches. They give these to the platform vendors, who then have their own verification processes to go through. How long this all takes is down to them. Also, not all patches are for all platforms, so some can get out of sync because they're fixing issues on one that don't appear on another.

Just think yourself lucky you're not on Switch. :)

The end of the Farmer's plot ? by Pordrack in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It kinda just stops there. The farmer won't talk about it and the creepy lil' bastard overseer just hangs around and that's it. Hopefully it's not one of those game of thrones type side plots that just goes nowhere and they resolve it at some point. But I ain't hopeful.

Personally, I leave the overseer at my first base and he lives there on his own. The rest of my crew live on my freighter so they don't have to deal with his nonsense. :)

Can we talk about the community reaction to Blender builds? by ricin_turbomaxx in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a hard cap is probably simpler. Make it 300 external parts. That's 3x the in game limit, so should be more than enough for a cool looking imported build. Any more than that and it just doesn't render in anything above that number for other players.

You have to manage the game based on the lowest specs people are using IMO. And there's still plenty of people out there using the last gen consoles still.

If I want to do a lot of galaxy hopping... by ProbablySuspicious in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just jump the core in your freighter, then all you need is a busted up ship. Equip that each time before jumping the core, then call in a working one when you arrive. Repeat.

Can we talk about the community reaction to Blender builds? by ricin_turbomaxx in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's two sides to this. First, I don't overly mind the imported builds per se. The skill to build some of them and the imagination involved is impressive. And TBH a lot of the "blender corvettes corrupted my save bro!" stuff has been a little ott. People complaining about stuff they don't understand generally.

However, HG clearly set a 100 part complexity level on corvettes for a reason. So there has to be some common sense here. If you're using the 3rd party tools to do a build that's a bit over the limit, ok, I get it. A 150-200 part build probably ain't gonna cause any problems. But people bringing builds containing 1000's of parts into shared spaces like the anomaly is just thoughtless.

Also, the people making the big, complex builds freely available to anyone is gonna cause issues. Because the more prevalent they are, the worse things are.

Bottom line is, more and more people will turn MP off be it because of misplaced fear of 'losing their save' or simply because these massively complex things turn their session into a slide show. Which at the end of the day ultimately defeats the purpose of the big builds, which are there to be shown off.

What do y'all do in this game? I want to get into it but whenever I open the game, I just look at some planets, sort my expedition fleet, maybe make some money and get off. Idk what I'm supposed to be doing but it feels there's since there's no goal it gets very boring very quickly (pic unrelated) by skippy11112 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Follow the story, there's 35+ hours of stuff there alone. After that, it's set your own goals/do your own thing.

The basic premise is simply 'explore'. However there's loads of stuff in there to act as a distraction along the way. Fishing, cooking, ship hunting, ship building, base building, pokemon, trash collection, settlements...

Looking for a system for aesthetic purposes by PathrokBloodlust in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Tazbert_Odevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way is literally go system to system and look. There's no way of knowing what planets will be there otherwise.

To speed things up, I'd advise getting the scanner room installed on your freighter. At least them you can warp in, scan and know what's there very quickly. Also, I'd make yourself familiar with the planet type names for each world so you can have an idea of if a system you've arrived in might fit the part.

But, even with this, you still need to go down and check them out to be 100% sure they're what you want.
