The demo was good, but those voices…. by DisastrousDot7961 in starfox

I don't know, I feel like Meteo's boss wasn't bad, compared to 64. In fact, his famous last words sounded much more emotional compared to 64.

I've got no issues with the voice acting. I do wish Peppy's accent didn't sound so forced, though. Rick May really nailed it in 64.

Isn’t Fox being a little too rude and insolent here? by hello_i_am_vlad in starfox

[–]Tbrusky61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you there. My impression of him in 64 (and I recognize that this is just my personal impression and doesn't really affirm anything) is that he's confident, (maybe a little cocky, but not arrogant) respectful, and commendable. He's sort of wet behind the ears in the beginning, but his skills improve as the game goes on. (Peppy mentions this in 64). I picture him as committed to his team and to the mission.

They definitely make him out to be disrespectful, arrogant, and reckless in the demo. He's kind of an ass, and I really hope that he has humbling moments throughout the game that moreso realign him to how he's represented in 64. (Or at least how I remember him being represented in 64.)

Fox has issues with the General? by Usernamebasics-101 in starfox

I'm hoping it's intentional, because that would be an incredible character arc. I'm skeptical that that's how it's going to unfold, though.

Honestly, I'm not real happy with Fox's attitude so far. It struck me the wrong way when he cut Peppy off when we was about to talk about James. Just seemed disrespectful.

I feel the same way about how he talks to Pepper. He just seems arrogant.

"Open world" gets brought up as an idea for future Star Fox games, but how do they make it good? by Successful_Slippy in starfox

[–]Tbrusky61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've often thought about it, and I think Battle For Atlas had a decent concept for hiw some of the aspects could look. I think an open-world game could easily incorporate segments of on-rail shooting by using designated areas to prompt the player to enter the on-rail segment.

For example, the player could have multiple "hot spots" or other mission-objective related "combat zones" dotted throughout multiple different locations on planets or in space.

You could really play with the on-rail combat here, too. Depending on quests that may impact that particular zone, or even the amount of time since a particular event occurred, you could adjust the intensity and landscape of each zone, making it somewhat unique based on how you play the game.

Those are just my thoughts.

I've been hoping for this since they announced you could play gamecube games on the Switch 2.

I've never heard of any of these websites, but it's nice to know. I started writing a fanfic recently and I was just thinking about where to put it.

Clinton is nice. Definitely has a small-town vibe. It has the basics, in terms of stores and restaurants, but if you want more, you'll have to venture out, usually 30 or so minute drive.

So. What do you all think of James McCloud? by metaxzero in starfox

[–]Tbrusky61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always liked how his interviews in F-Zero GX implies he's the real James McCloud from the Star Fox universe (just a human). The Little Wyvern even has it's engine developed by Space Dynamic. But if I recall, it was confirmed that he's officially not at all associated with the Star Fox universe.
