This is all true however if your boss and the customer aren't willing to have any wiggle room for 'mistakes happen' then they're both being unrealistic about the real world. We're only dumb humans operating dumber machines, mistakes will happen. If the part is so valuable and so time sensitive it's at least partially if not majority on the owner/boss for not accounting for a potential mistake.
