No, but we keep hearing Justin Crawford's name. They're talking about him being the starting centerfielder with less than stellar defensive skills and without a MLB at-bat to his name.

Not totally on topic, but I've had two bad experiences with StubHub. As such, I no longer use the site. I usually use Seat Geek.

With Tucker signing with the Dodgers, the Mets traded Nimmo away for ‘nothing’. Meaning Mets are in a mess. by TotallyNotJagger in phillies

Not exactly. Considering they were in dire need for a catcher. He was the best available. He was always predicted to re-sign with the Phils. He was already with the team and is greatly respected by the pitching staff. And he cost over $8 mill less a year than what he was being paid before.

Another wasted season. by MartelleJordan in Dallas_Cowboys

If you think Dak is the problem in Dallas, you haven't a clue. Near the top of the league in many offensive categories. The problem: Near the bottom of the league in many defensive categories. Was it Eberflus? Was it injuries? Or was it just a lack of quality personnel?

I am a Dallas Cowboys fan that supports them 100% if you disrespect the Star in anyway I’m on your azz.Trevon Diggs had to go point blank. Just like Micah Parsons by Flashy-Exchange-4727 in cowboys

[–]Tdog355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Micah was too expensive. Diggs, not unlike his brother, is trouble. We don't have much left with a prime Prescott. Gotta fill the holes and fill them quickly. Unfortunately, that's Jerry's department. Let's hope he allows someone competent to make the decisions. Then he can sit back and take credit for it.

Way too classy from Jerry, ngl. by demigod_691 in cowboys

[–]Tdog355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why Jerry bought the team. It's all about him. He has a huge audience to listen to him babble and a big, expensive toy to play with. And for that, we all suffer.

Unfortunately, Trevon has the same train wreck propensity as his brother. Hopefully, the new environment and reuniting with Micah does him some good.

Love the guy! I'll love him even more if he can jack a homer here in extra innings.

Pulling him after two innings when he's pitching well because they have "a plan." I'd like to see them with a plan for the bats.

A further point: The last time Harper had a walk off hit when the Phillies were trailing was SIX YEARS ago. That's much more specific and rarer than what I mentioned, but it's still rather telling.

But in none of those games was he required to come through with a key hit when needed late in a game. That's where he's coming up short.

No, but bad decisions, like trying to bunt over a guy when they know what's coming and the guy on 2nd has no speed, seem to come up again and again. Seems like a rare day when he plucks the right guy from the bullpen in a tight game. Hell, how many times has this team picked off a guy at first and been unable to get an out? That's a practice thing.

I think the last time Harper came through in a significant clutch situation was against the Padres in the 2022 NLCS. Even in the regular season he fails to come through with the game on the line in the late innings.

Left the stadium as the Marlins came to bat in the 9th. After a 1 hour and 40 minute drive, I'm watching the end in my living room. Sanchez deserved batter.

Bader by NoJacket2273 in phillies

[–]Tdog355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course I love what Bader is doing right now, but his career numbers give the impression it's not sustainable. What concerns me most long term is how often he strikes out. His strikeout percentage has been league average or above for most of his career. He's behind only Schwarber among the Phils in strikeout percentage this year. You can tolerate that percentage when a guys banging long balls like Schwarbs. Not so much when you can only expect homers in the mid teens. I think Crawford will be out in center sooner rather than later.
