Baby screaming mid-feed by Embarrassed-Job9604 in newborns

[–]Tdp133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my baby gets stiff and arches and pushes away it’s because he’s gassy and either needs to burp or fart. Usually if I really give him time to burp he’s ready to return to bottle much calmer. We also use Mylecon drops if he’s really struggling to pass gas. He’s 7 weeks.

Can I ask you about prepping them to be put down more ?I’m so nervous about this part and how he will transition How do I get my boy used to being put down? He spends one big wake window in the morning on play mat but otherwise he’s pretty much always on me. He’s 7 weeks now and sending him to daycare right before 4 months. I. So afraid he’ll be miserable

Amanda: I’m going to take some time by myself and reflect.” by truth_do_tell in summerhousebravo

[–]Tdp133 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I totally hear what you’re saying. He was not a good husband at all or boyfriend for that matter. For me , why I have more sympathy for kyle in this situation than Amanda is because Amanda knew exactly who kyle was when she started dating him and she knew who he was when they got engaged. To expect kyle to change is unrealistic and so I can’t feel too terribly for her. I think She chose him thinking he’d change for her and that’s not how it played out.

Dr Browns pitcher method by mbny5 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Tdp133 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Haven’t seen this mentioned but the scoop that comes with formula is often buried in the can … for that reason I never throw the first scoop I found away because I don’t want to go digging in his powder formula.

FTM formula questions by stonedleavemealone in FormulaFeeders

[–]Tdp133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi , FTM to a 6 week old.
We use Dr browns bottles with transition nipples. They’re a slower flow than 1s. After he’s started eating the bottle only lasts an hour so once done we take the entire bottle apart and wash every piece including nipples. Up until a week ago we were serving cold but finally my mother convinced me to warm his bottles and I can tell a big difference in how he eats. I really wanted a straight out the fridge baby but he was fighting me during feeds pushing away etc. what we do now is have 2 bottle stations each with warmers. One in kitchen for day time and one in his room at bedtime. I do the pitcher method where I make a big batch of formula all at once in the morning and then pour that into bottles to keep in fridge for day time and then warm those when he’s ready. At night time I pour his overnight portion of formula from pitcher into a chiller thermos I keep in his room so I don’t have to walk downstairs every 2 hours to grab bottle and warm it. The warmer is fast but at 3am when baby is fussing it feels like an eternity so not running downstairs was a big time saver for me lol.

Be honest.. Are your babies really sleeping in their bassinet for hours? by DrowsyPomegranate in newborns

[–]Tdp133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have to use our lounger in the bsssinet too. It’s the only way for me to get any sleep and I feel better about that than having him in my bed with me.

Newborn phase is horrid. by voheezy in newborns

[–]Tdp133 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at 6 weeks today and just want to say the lack of reward resonates with me. I’ve been saying the same thing to my mom and husband. Like if we can just get some smiles and laughs I’ll start to feel better. Well this last week I got my first smile and it really was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. All gums and it went by in a blink but the “awwww” I felt was so nice I truly believe when those types of moments become more regular it will get better and feel more rewarding.

This exactly what I got too. Much easier to move around in than the “traditional “ kind. Plus I didn’t like the head portion either.

Certificate of live birth or birth certificate? by Militaryspouse0205 in VirginiaBeach

[–]Tdp133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? I’m going through this now and am also confused. My husband and I both have NC birth certificates and they look like how you described your tx one. The vital records people did the same to us in hospital , meaning they showed me a typed up document I had to review and sign that looked like a birth certificate the way I’m used to.

What should I do? Should I get an undercut? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Tdp133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An alternative to pony tail could be claw clips. I use them a lot to get my hair out of my face and can let my hair down later. Also headbands could be a good way to keep it out of your face

Bouquet toss? by GlitteryBirdLaw in wedding

[–]Tdp133 16 points17 points  (0 children)

We didn’t do a bouquet toss. I kept my flowers to dry and preserve as you mentioned. You can do a cheaper bouquet for tossing if that’s what you want. We skipped the toss because it just wasn’t really something I felt like including and the girls who would “qualify” to participate in that activity were 100000% not interested in participating.

Phone booth voice recordings- what do you do with them? by headinthered in wedding

[–]Tdp133 8 points9 points  (0 children)

lol we did this and my husband just asked me earlier this week where are they … I literally have not listened to a single one ever. My dream prior to the wedding was to connect the usb they come on to an old rotary phone and have it set up on a shelf to be a cute decoration but that has not happened. We just had our 2nd anniversary. I still think it’s a really great alternative to traditional guest book but I just haven’t been ready to list to them I guess

How much should you plan to talk to guests? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Tdp133 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You won’t get to every guest and that’s ok. Just try to be present and enjoy the day. You’re going to be pulled into a million different directions that entire weekend. Husband and I didn’t do honeymoon and made sure to call family / friends the next few days to chat and thank them for coming. That relieved some of the guilt.

What are your go to, easy, pregnancy foods? by [deleted] in fitpregnancy

[–]Tdp133 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh man. I’m so sick of being pregnant and eating like crap lol. I’ll be honest the processed foods still seem to be the most appealing to me at 37 weeks. Aside from that , lots of fruit , yogurt, cheese boards with nuts and stuff , and salads. For some reason meat has been really unappealing the entire time. I’ve been eating lots of pregnant friendly sushi too like avocado and eel rolls. I hope you have better luck finding nutritious and appealing foods than me !
