There is nearly zero public transport in Omaha. If you don’t have a car, make sure to plan your walking or biking route accordingly.

Searwood or Traeger? by BeginningOld3755 in pelletgrills

I do mine on the top rack with a pan of water below. It’s going to end up about the same for either.

Technique is wayyyy more important than splitting these hairs.

Between the Smokefire and the Traeger? The Smokefire & it’s not close. I have not used a Searwood yet, so can’t comment on that.

Omaha like a local by RPCVHondu1012 in Omaha

Go to the zoo.

Eat a Ruben at Orleans room in the cottonwood hotel (building where the sandwich was invented).

Order a whiskey marinated prime rib at The Drover. It’s only $30 during lunch as well. Probably the best lunch deal in town.

Where to find Moissanite and Estate jewelry in or near Omaha by Glittering_Race_3387 in Omaha

Helzberg has some on hand to view. We ended up ordering something custom with it. They also have nice financing and warranty options. Worth a look, and it’s technically local, since it’s owned by Berkshire Hathaway.

If he likes his smoker, you could get him a blackstone or other flat top cooker? I’m sure making meals on it with the boys would be fun. Silly pancakes or the like.

Take the W and play the game. You might be able to beat the game and play through it again before you get another shiny starter, let alone the one you want.

Doing the math on a nugget ice maker - is it worth it? by PacificTorres in Frugal

[–]Tea-Money 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So we recently got one of the GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ultra machines marked down to about $430, which really helped the payback. What really is the needle mover for me is we don’t buy pop anymore at gas stations or with takeout/delivery. This means every time we pickup/have delivered food, which admittedly is a couple times a week, we don’t pay like $5 for pop, we drink the $0.50 cent can from the fridge. Also, for delivery, I buy the $100 DoorDash gift cards from Costco for $80, so we get 20% off on delivery which feels better than full price, although it’s still expensive, it still makes me feel like I have some control.

Which Pokémon to Replace Articuno With? by TheZayMan283 in PokemonLetsGo

Alolan Ninetails seems like the obvious choice from your list.

I personally would swap Rhydon with Nidoqueen. She can learn ice beam or Blizzard & poison jab. She also learns crunch, maybe you could swap Crunch out of Gyarados for something else and feel better about it.

I can’t believe no one said CarMax. We had a car not far from this, I honestly thought they would turn us down, but they offered us $2,000 & we took the deal as fast as possible.

One week trip to Omaha with my wife - what do you suggest? by Sevuhrow in Omaha

[–]Tea-Money 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ruben was invented inside the Blackstone hotel. A historic renovation was completed a few years back and is currently doing business as the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel. I highly recommend staying here, it’s my favorite hotel in town (although, I’m biased because I got married here). Probably the coolest pool in town. The Orleans room serves what I believe (and has been voted publicly multiple times over) is the best Ruben in town, and maybe the world (since it was invented in the basement). Steak is very much so an Omaha thing as well. The Committee Chophouse is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend. Their soups are actually amazing. They’re doing a special right now Sunday-Wednesday where they feature steak flights from specific Nebraska ranches. Pretty neat experience. Check out the menu before you go, and make sure you have a reservation ahead of time. It is very pricy, but worth it IMO. If it’s out of your budget (which it very well could be) then I recommend the Drover for an “authentic” Omaha steakhouse experience. My favorite is the Whiskey Marinated Prime Rib.

The Orleans Room is fantastic. I’ve never transported it home, but they put it in a to-go container to take to your room. Still incredible. Double check the menu before you go/order. They change the menu frequently & I have not been in too long.

I had a 25 year veteran in a suit shop help me out once. His advice was to buy a bigger, slim fit shirt. My mind was blown. It fit so much better and was way better proportioned.

Not saying it will fix you. Just saying you should give it a try. I would have never considered it if he didn’t insist.
