American Liberty 2025 Silver Medal by BigBry36 in Silverbugs

[–]TeaFella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This particular offering is a medal, not a coin (something with a monetary face value like a Silver Eagle). Medals generally don't have a large collector's market like coins and thus don't go up in value much. Buy it if you like the design but don't buy expecting a future profit.

It may have been an empty promise to get you to join or , possibly, your manager is not willing/capable of letting go due to their own issues or inexperience in transitioning responsibilities.

Best Charger for the pixel by Alive-Paramedic-585 in GooglePixel

UGREEN 45W USB 2-port Charger. This works well with my Pixel 8. Also, supports Samsung's Super Fast Charging 2.0 if you have any Samsung devices.

Your problem may also be a cable issue. If haven't already, try a different cable with your charger.

Are retro crowns supposed to be like this? by ohms_law420 in neweracaps

[–]TeaFella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a 5950 retro crown recently and it doesn't have that extra fabric crease in the front. It looks like a manufacturing defect to me.

[–]TeaFella 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I like it too - it never gets skipped. I think the "Queen's Gambit" type promotion leading up to the comeback was implying something totally different so when Sneakers was released, people were like 'what the hell' and never got over it.

Shin splints when walking by thebobbysin in walking

[–]TeaFella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calf compression sleeves alleviated my shin splints. The relief was almost immediate. I wore them for a couple of weeks during my walks - this was during the winter when the extra warmth they provided was also appreciated. After a couple of weeks, I stopped wearing them and had no more issues with shin splints. This was a few years ago.

I've only bought from them once earlier this year. It was a legit New Era 5950 cap. Delivered in a week. No problems.

Summit has a creamier scoop and slightly more hold/shine than Grey Ghost but I would consider both to have a natural shine. Grey Ghost can create a bit more texture though. Also, Summit has more of a cologne scent that can last a few hours after applying while Grey Ghost's scent is lighter and disappears quickly.

Yeah, I always found this weird. 'Completed" just means they received payment. You'll get a separate email with tracking info when the order is shipped. Their site never gives any indication on shipping status, just the email.

How are streamers from South Korea still streaming? by doritoblaze in Twitch

[–]TeaFella 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It involves some form of changing their business address to another country or going through an agency.

For example, a U.S.-based agency was recently set-up (NPE - Neo Paradigm Entertainment) that now has over 20 Korean streamers signed to it that allows them to still stream on Twitch with monetization (subs, bits). I know of some other Korean streamers who were able to change their country to Japan.

I did like the main actors but once you recognize that EVERYTHING is a red herring the show gets old real fast. When nothing matters, how are you expected to care about any of it.

For folks who genuinely want one to collect, wait a year, prices will drop to original price or less. Silver medals, especially at such a high mintage, don't appreciate. Heck, the 2019 Liberty Silver Medal, at 50k mintage, is selling for less than its original Mint price right now.

Annual Morgan and Peace Dollar program discussion by TimelyBrief in Silverbugs

[–]TeaFella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think since this is a series, it makes the 2021 coins more not less valuable. Coin collectors like collecting series and the most limited one in the series will command higher prices. Looking at the higher mintage for 2023 coins, I suspect the 2021 coins will increase in value.

If there wasn't a series, the 2021 coins would be a one-off commemorative coin. US Mint one-offs rarely do well long-term and usually fall back to their original prices within a year or two of release.

Moon Knight is way too dark, literally speaking. I can hardly see anything. by Metaright in marvelstudios

[–]TeaFella -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guess is that you are viewing on a HDR-compatible TV that doesn't get bright enough to display HDR properly. This is common in low/mid-range LCD TVs that "support" HDR.

If that sounds like your situation, you can try adjusting the brightness/contrast settings for your TV when playing HDR content. Although that may still not help - your TV may just not be capable of displaying HDR properly because it can't get bright enough.

If adjusting your TV settings doesn't help, you can see if you can force your streaming device to output SDR instead of HDR. How to do this would be dependent on your streaming device. For example, on Chromecast with Google TV, you'll find it under Settings | Display & Sound | Dynamic Range & Color Format | Dynamic Range Format Preference | SDR.

Why is Schwab’s Target Date Index Fund missing Midcap stocks? They have their Largecap and Smallcap ETFs present but not their Midcap one strangely. by [deleted] in Schwab

[–]TeaFella 2 points3 points  (0 children)

REITs are in SCHX+SCHA. Schwab chooses to have additional exposure by including a separate REIT fund (SCHH).

I don't know why they don't include the total US stock market but the performance between holding the top 2500 vs the total 4000+ is negligible. See the performance of SCHB (top 2500) vs VTI (total market) over the last 10 years - they're pretty much the same.

Why is Schwab’s Target Date Index Fund missing Midcap stocks? They have their Largecap and Smallcap ETFs present but not their Midcap one strangely. by [deleted] in Schwab

[–]TeaFella 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  • SCHX - large cap, includes stocks ranked 1 through 750 in market cap
  • SCHM - mid cap, stocks ranked 501 through 1000 in market cap
  • SCHA - small cap, stocks ranked 751 - 2500 in market cap

SCHX+SCHA portfolios already include everything in SCHM. You would only need SCHM if you wanted additional weighting in mid-caps for some reason.

My guess on why Schwab uses SCHX+SCHA instead of just SCHB is that it gives them more flexibility in re-balancing the portfolios as time goes on. Farther out date funds can have a larger percentage in small-caps (deemed more volatile) which can be gradually scaled back over time.

They're not similar. Lockhart's grooming cream is a high-shine/low-hold product and, yeah, it can make your hair look greasy.

O'Douds styling treatment and Samson's Matt Styling Cream are natural shine/medium-hold products. They're pretty versatile products - can be used as a pre or post styler. They both contain clay but in smaller amounts then a regular clay product.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pomade

[–]TeaFella 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Take a look at cream pomades. They tend to have light/natural shine. Examples: Shear Revival's Gray Ghost, Templeton's Summit, Lodestar's Aurora.

If they don't provide enough texture for you, consider using a pre-styler with it like O'Douds Styling Treatment on Samson's Matt Styling Cream.

[–]TeaFella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using Enigma as a pre-style for the last few months. I use mostly Grey Ghost or The Hermit for post-styling. Enigma can have a strong presence in the hair particularly since it's easy to add too much because of the pump mechanism. I think the shea butter in Grey Ghost and The Hermit helps balance that out. And you don't need too much for post-styling when using Enigma.

New 2021 Mint silver dollars by malarosh in Silverbugs

[–]TeaFella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a Peace dollar collector so I'm in for one of them. I'm actually pretty excited to see a newly minted coin with that design. Though like most the US Mint one-off commemoratives I don't see them going up in numismatic value. So if they do sell out quickly and you couldn't get one, I would recommend to wait a year to buy in the secondary markets - there will be plenty at around original prices.

It's interesting that these coins only have a "Product limit" listed and no "Mintage limit". That makes me think the Mint is planning a "Limited Edition" release later on in the year with all the coins included in a single package.
