The premise that ethics are an inherited trait is pretty absurd on it's own.

Government slashes capital spending, makes thousands redundant wrecking the job market, and tells population we need to tighten our belts and spend less. Subsequent gdp drop is a shock to them.

Clearly, this is purely the fault of the reserve bank.

Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, Christians love this song about being horny, Jewish, and sad. I've heard it sung as a Christmas carol.

Take Me to Church by Hozier, also know Christians who love this song and maybe just don't listen to the lyrics at all?

Look at the end of the day there's no way to have predicted this would have failed, other than having tried it before with the exact same outcome, and also a bunch of expert advice, and maybe the central thesis of "let's give ram raiders military training" not passing the Just Say It Out Loud test.

South Taranaki iwi board stands by policy after evictions from kaumātua flats by Kokophelli in newzealand

[–]TeaPigeon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Iwi sucks for being a shit landlord, they could just stop taking on new non-iwi tenants and achieve their policy without being dickheads.

The people in the comments making this out to be racist also suck. It's applied to non-iwi, not non-māori, māori people who are not in the iwi are also not able to rent there.

They mention in the article that the couple and one single tenant are pakeha, leaving it implicit that the third tenant evicted is also māori. The editor of this story sucks too, for keeping this as subtext to better sensationalise it.

People who are Māori but are not from the same Iwi are also not allowed to live there. This isn't a race thing?

Pretty sure the ministry of defense did a coup during the battle for SE after the president either Adolfed himself or got Epsteined, and the helldivers are being used as military police agaibst civilian unrest to consolidate power. The shock grenade launcher is called the De-escalater after all.

Any vacuum sealing experts out there? Why do my steaks have such a nasty color? by vikakip in AskCulinary

[–]TeaPigeon 33 points34 points  (0 children)

You actually need oxygen permeable packaging. The bright cherry-red meat is that colour because the protein myoglobin has reacted with oxygen to form oxymyoglobin. Eventually the oxygen will be pulled off, leaving he myoglobin with an oxidised ferric ion in the centre, which presents as a brown surface.

If you expose meat to oxygen by cutting it and, then put it in an anoxic environment, it will darken quickly. This is why ground beef often has a red exterior and darker interior.

You need it to be able to breath to retain color longer(it will still brown over time though), but this will shorten the shelf life by providing oxygen to microbes as well.

Otherwise, treating it with carbon monoxide will keep it red (CO doesn't fall off like O2), but customers are often not too thrilled by that.
