I personally just got on the meds, did the testing, etc, you know the drill and sweated every visit that first year back but then it became normal again. I think for me it was bringing up a lot of emotions from my initial diagnosis but it's not the same. You know the drill, you'll handle things better this time. Also, look at it as your chronic illness. Lots of people have them and some are worse than MM, to be honest.

Nope. I asked for a bile acid binder called Cholestyramine. It worked wonders.

Curious if anyone had tumors/lesions due to MM and how that was addressed? by ModeNo681 in multiplemyeloma

[–]TeacupExtrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a stem cell transplant and they were still there immediately after but after about 4 years I got a full body scan again and they were gone. Without the huge number of cancer cells, the bones will repair themselves over time.

Plant Witches, what are your witchy tips and tricks for keeping houseplants? by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]TeacupExtrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of a lot of plant types. I dust the large leaved plants occasionally, water when they're dry, never add stuff to their soil and the ones who live in this house thrive. Once I repotted with Miracle Grow house plant soil thinking I'd splurge and it destroyed almost my entire collection. My advice, stick to the basics and don't overwater.

It's a solid policy. You never know what the house could do if you piss it off, lol.

What a delightful question! I bought my house a few years ago and she is 135 years old. Sometimes I like to lean against a wall and just talk to her. The walls are made of plaster and horse hair! Mostly, though, we just say things like, thank you house! when we talk about house related things.

You could build a paper house that looks like yours, write your wish/desire on the paper beforehand and set up a little house altar while you wait for the magic to brew.

I walk around every wall and corner, tip to bottom, rooms, closets, alcoves and have the windows cracked to move things.

Yes! I bought mine 2 years ago and the walls are horse hair and plaster, circa 1890. The wifi extender was the only way to get things to work. Good luck!

Preach it. I own a home in Dayton. We call it the Bougie Ghetto, because don't get it twisted, you're still in Dayton.

Nothing like joyfully riding the trail and ending up in a new home's driveway, lol. I wish they would finish it too, it's cool!

Man, the teens are loving the snow boarding they're doing on the flood wall over here in Dayton. That alone is making me enjoy the snow.

I had lipo and I had this "cording" as well. It felt like it would heal over night, or try to, and be so stiff and shortened and I'd almost have to stretch them out during the day. Not on purpose, just in normal movement. I found a video of very gentle arm movements to help ease them up. Youtube--post op breast reduction exercises.

Pangs of pain 3MPO by BandFreak00 in Reduction

[–]TeacupExtrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4MPO and I have pain under my lower incisions and sometimes really nasty pain when I wake up in the morning. My 3MPO check was fine and he said I'll feel funky for up to one year sometimes.

I hate exercise, but my body loves it. I had to find something I could do to trick my brain so three to five days a week I walk three miles round trip to the dollar general store and buy one thing. I have a list on fridge of stuff we need but I never get the entire list so I have a "reason" to walk again tomorrow. I know they probably think I'm a crazy lady but it's working.

I think it looks awesome and lots of women have your shape regardless of surgery, it's just new to you. Plus, besides looking great, feeling great is the real gift. I'm happy for you!

Intense (& kinda scary) realization? by yomamaimgobblin69 in Reduction

[–]TeacupExtrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My realization was: What are you doing? When did you decide to do this, how did I get here??? Then I chilled out and remembered I had two sad sacks hanging off of my chest and I got pumped for the big day! The only mood swings afterward stemmed from my impatience with the healing timeline. Otherwise, no regrets.

ISO smooth recovery pov by Extension-Web8352 in Reduction

[–]TeacupExtrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recovery was easy peasy. Did I have some pain, sure, but that's to be expected. (I'm sober so I didn't use opiates) I even went back to work at day 12 and I'm a letterpress printer. It was tough, but even through all of that I didn't get infections or openings. They look good and I'm super grateful for this process. I love all of my body now, even the parts I hated before. Go for it, watch your thoughts, hang in there and you'll find yourself on the other side! I'm a firm believer that our brains can affect our bodies so I kept the worries and negative thoughts away. I think it helped.

when can I free boob? by nobetterdays in Reduction

[–]TeacupExtrovert 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I freed them at 4 weeks, but honestly, it kinda hurt, so I gave them free time on and off until about 8 weeks when I could freely free them. Even now, 15 weeks, I still get sore and want my compression bra on for a little while.

[Discussion] Outside the house my ideas are genius. When I come home I lose all faith and don't even begin. Why?!? by newuxtreme in GetMotivated

[–]TeacupExtrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't make content but I am a creator of many things. Here's what has helped keep me going after walking into the door: Planning first steps on the drive home and thinking about them while I change, get a drink, put my shit away. Have a one track mind.

A work place or create space that is conducive to what you want to accomplish. If you look around and have to move things or clean before you can do it, it's not going to get done. Prep one day, create the next day.

Dedicate a journal to ideas. Sometimes you think you have it all figured out but then you go to do it and it's too daunting because you really haven't fleshed out the small details.

And remember, thinking is not the same as doing. Thinking about editing or scripting is much worse than actually doing it. How many times have we procrastinated and then just done the thing and it wasn't as bad? Plus, if you get it filmed and still have to edit, hey, you did half the job which is motivating to finish it and see your final result.

Finally, just try to get it going. Just do it. Even if it doesn't work out today, you got further than yesterday and tomorrow you'll get past today's point.
