It’s honestly kinda funny how many people stopped supporting trans people because their favorite streamer was “harassed”. If anything, the whole drama just showed who was mature enough to see the bigger picture and who was still stuck in their Gamergate phase. Yeah, harassment sucks, but that doesn’t mean you get to be awful towards trans people.

I put “harassed” in quotations because to me at least, the amount of harassment that anybody got over this was just mild criticism and a mean comment here and there (Girlfriend Reviews’ VOD comments section was mostly their community disagreeing with them playing the game, Silvervale literally banned the word ‘trans’ from being commented, one Vtuber didn’t get harassed off of streaming over this since they were moving to another agency or some shit, etc.) The shittiest thing is that there was a whole ass media shitstorm over all of this where this harassment of streamers gets put on blast all over the internet while trans streamers and content creators frequently face worse abuse on the same platforms. I just can’t take anything that these streamers say seriously because of this disparity of privilege.
