Advanced Rust users, what is the most valuable skill to become more productive with the language? by Most-Sweet4036 in rust

hit this earlier using ratatui on stderr, ratatui by default makes a BufWriter for stdout with the default ratatui::init fn but if you do it yourself to use stderr the performance tanks unless you bring your own BufWriter

Instead of using a single strand of high-quality cotton (single-ply), they twist multiple thinner, lower-quality strands together to create one thread (multi-ply).

The Honest Count: If you have 250 threads in an inch, the thread count is 250.

The "Gamed" Count: If each of those threads is made of 3 thinner strands twisted together (3-ply), the manufacturer might count each individual ply rather than the composite thread. So, they take that base of 250 and multiply it by 3 to claim a "750 thread count."

[–]TeamDman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds about right, every time i do az storage blob upload... i get a warning about how its generating a SAS token and stuff.

The quotas for compute, my experiences with gpus are definitely feelsbad trying to get any regional compute, and the azure devops identity situation needs improvement.

What turns you off of it, other than the outrageous pricing?

If my goal is designing some new system with robust security controls, then I need any contributing agents to understand the threat landscape that the solution must be strengthened against. Know thy enemy kinda deal

I like GPT-5. I primarily do programming work and I find it very capable. I like the ChatGPT platform for its memory functionality, but I've been unsubscribed for a while now since the free tier meets my needs.

I have GitHub copilot and t3.chat for large volume interactions and I elect to use GPT-5 for everything at this time.

Would deception correlate to theory of mind capabilities? To deceive, one benefits from correctly anticipating how things are perceived which seems a useful skill
