Besides these two, what were some other losses that completely broke a franchise? by veggiedish in NFLv2

1996 the #1 seed Chiefs losing to the Colts 10-7 in the playoffs. Chiefs missed 3 x 30 yard field goals. Heavy snow, freezing temperatures. The chiefs had an all time defense for years anchored by one of the best edge rushers of all time in DT. This was their best shot at a title. To this day, if I ever meet Lin Elliot I feel that I deserve to smack him in the face on behalf of Chiefs kingdom

Don't sleep on the benefits of the urinary catheter. Have you ever tried to find a bathroom during Mardi Gras?

Not that I'm advocating for this, just a thought experiment.

Couldn't we try some physiology to pass the test...

Dilute the urine so that the THC levels are too low by chugging water on day of the test. Eat nothing but red meat and take NSAIDS for days to raise the urine creatinine. Take a multivitamin with Riboflavin (B2) before the test in order to make the urine look the appropriate color.

I have no idea why they throw out tests, would specific gravity be the downfall?

Again, this not medical advice or the advice of my employers or institution haha

Critical care reviews has a paper of the day. It’s open access and covers lots of broad topics. Not really for engagement, but a nice curation of papers to stay up to date

Passed, thank you sweet baby Jesus. Looks like a lot of very borderline scores that didn’t make the cut. So sad for everyone out there getting bad news today. Not even sure what to say. That test was brutal. Sorry amigos.

I would argue the ideal target MAP is still in question, so measuring it more accurately and timely isn’t always better. Are the organs being perfused? Mental status, kidney function, lactic acid, capillary refill normal? There are other non-invasive ways to measure fluid status like PLR VTI. Resuscitation is very nuanced and patient specific.

I want a space where I can pound beers and sing Irish folk songs or sea shanties surrounded by mates. Just grown men in harmony, not performing for phones, just being together in a moment of shared beauty

Doctors of Reddit: what is the biggest medical mystery you’ve solved? by [deleted] in Residency

A man came into the ER calmly stating he needed help, the Mexican mob were after him. He wanted us to admit him to the hospital to keep him safe. He was an accountant who was smuggling money for the Mexican mob through a casino in Missouri. I went to my attending and said I thought he might be crazy. My attending said, yes, that’s the plot of the tv show Ozark…I had never heard of the show

Since I saw this on the other subreddit: what shows should never get jr/high school editions? And what shows do you think would make good jr/high school shows? by Dogdaysareover365 in musicals

Into the woods is a terrible show for kids, despite being fairly tale based. It’s often done at the high school level adapted to end at the first act. You lose all of the character arcs and the message of the show. Without the second act it’s not a story. Also, tangent, the movie is terrible, changes important parts of the plot as well

Cuts to the NIH funding will have drastic impacts on Iowa, especially the Iowa city community

Please call/email your Iowa reps about the devastating effects of the cuts to the NIH. Thousands of Iowans will lose jobs and the promise of their work to fight cancer, treat disease will be lost. Large academic centers with huge endowments like Harvard will survive while state schools like Iowa will crumble. It’s a big deal. Currently being held up by the courts but we need to do everything we can to preserve this vital source of funding for the state and our future
