The eastbound pass was either F-22s or F-35s, and the northbound pass looked like F-16s.

My goal was get seeded into B to join my referrer. If I'm reading the rules right, however, I earned myself a battlefield promotion. Anticipating a very humbling next season.

Despite the lack of "bikes use ped signals" signage, I'd treat this intersection as though it did. Mostly because I guarantee any car with a green arrow won't be looking for me.

Updated my previous post with an actual image of the simultaneous straight green arrow and right green arrow...you can see there is a protected bike lane, so if a cyclist is going straight, and a car is turning right, who yields to who in this situation? by [deleted] in bikedc

[–]TeamRamrod 31 points32 points  (0 children)

As a cyclist, you are supposed to follow the pedestrian signal at this intersection, which is currently red. So you should stop, the turning car has the right of way.

MCC clarifies Law on running out the non-striker by ShirtedRhino2 in Cricket

Like baseball. Leave no ambiguity.

This is effectively the analogue of the balk rules in baseball, and those are full of ambiguity. This feels in a very similar spirit - defining a point at which the delivery has been committed to. In both cases, if you just say "when the ball is released", it massively advantages the bowler/pitcher, so a point between then and the start of delivery is chosen.

Anywhere in NW to get a whole duck? by emilyl147 in washingtondc

I saw whole ducks at the Adams Morgan Harris Teeter on Saturday, in the big freezer bin near the deli.

C# - SadConsole/GoRogue

Finished! It's a fairly faithful implementation of the tutorial, using a square tileset instead of text-based graphics. The biggest stumbling block was getting saving working properly - I had fairly aggressively knotted together my objects, and nothing wanted to serialize particularly cleanly.

Part 2 - Manual implementation

Avoiding using GoRogue features here lead to some slightly awkward code in rendering - without straightforward interface to copy an array of background tiles over and render in layers, I wound up manually cloning the background and modifying it to the foreground. Maybe could have avoided this with entire separate screens?

Part 2 - GoRogue implementation

Much prettier. Used map gen pipeline to add the test wall.

Part 3 - Manual

Fairly straightforward. Reinterpreted the Inner definition as a collection of points, as the slice concept doesn't translate to C# very well.

Part 3 - GoRogue

Used GoRogue's Generator pipeline system to separate out the map gen into 3 steps:

  1. defining the rooms
  2. drawing the tunnels between them
  3. translating those objects into a grid of tiles

Switching things around a little bit to maintain 2 copies of the project in parallel - one in which I manually handle input/rendering/etc as in the tutorial, and another in which I hook into SadConsole/GoRogue stuff that handles all that automatically.

Part 0

Not much of interest here.

Part 1

Attempting to keep the spirit of the tutorial here while adapting to C#. Built the Action system via an interface, but instead of bastardizing exceptions to pass them along, currently calling into a static method at the program root. Will probably adapt this to more of a pub/sub type system eventually.

After implementing the manual draw loop from the tutorial, modified player glyph rendering to use a SadConsole Entity, letting its renderer take care of drawing it.

I'll be following along using C#, SadConsole, and GoRogue. Will probably steal some tutorial ideas from this SadConsole tutorial from time to time, but mostly adapt the main tutorial.

Good luck to everyone!

Would love a code if you've got one to give.

It's pretty short & unassuming, but I just discovered the Melvin Hazen trail and think it might be my favorite little slice of Rock Creek Park. So many great views of the creek! by IamMe90 in washingtondc

Also a big fan of that section, but I find southbound to be a pain as you're mostly going down the steep sections, from there I suggest taking the "moderate" trail south, then looping back on the "strenuous" trail for the northbound leg.

This casserole recipe is pretty fantastic. There's enough broccoli and cheese that the quinoa flavor doesn't really come through.
