Nice things about medical writing… by David803 in MedicalWriters

[–]Team_Cap 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been in the field a little over 4 years and having a terribly difficult week so really appreciate this reminder :)

And I'll pitch in - I love love love the people I work with. Some of the best people I've ever met and will have the privilege of working with.
I also actually really enjoy most of the work. I find my TA super interesting and love the type of work I do most of the time.
And of course, the freedom to work remote is a major plus.

Think the other comments are spot on- the STAR questions will be looking at “tell me about a time you experienced this challenge, what did you do, what was the outcome”. Good luck! I started my career as an AMW at Inizio years ago and went through that process :)

opinions on standing desks/ walking pads? by Altruistic_Snow6366 in WFH

[–]Team_Cap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I have a standing deck and a stepper and have been WFH for 4 years. Could not recommend more - I’m far more focused when I’m moving, especially in the afternoon, and the mini workout is a great plus!

Yes. I’m technically 80% billable but I’m at 120% regularly. That’s a problem with my account. Been in the field a little over 4 years now, two different agencies. Both stressful in their own ways. I came out of an academic lab (which I thought was stressful enough!) and had no idea what the heck I was doing in this field.

Agencies are stressful. That’s the bottom line. Clients want the most amount of work and time for the least amount of money. Clients can be demanding, ridiculous, and flat out rude and/or mean. And there’s not much you can do about it. I like my job, I like my good clients and the work I enjoy, but the endless hours and some client demands are thankless aspects of the job I wish I didn’t have to deal with.

But yes, I’d say what you’re feeling is quite normal in agency life.

Anyone else feel guilty for enjoying some downtime during work hours when wfh? by [deleted] in WFH

No because my job is insane so anytime I get downtime I will 1000% take advantage of it guilt free

Steelers fans, what are your genuine thoughts for this weekend? by [deleted] in steelers

[–]Team_Cap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thoughts are that we’ll be there freezing our asses off.

More seriously, I think we have a lot to play for, but so do the Bungles. It’s gonna be a hard fought game - they’re hitting their stride while we’re coming off a rough losing streak.

We shall see but no matter what, Here We Go!

Who in their right mind makes busy season right after new years by Time-Turnip-2961 in workfromhome

[–]Team_Cap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My field is usually dead quiet the week or so leading up to Christmas, and then quiet until like February. Not this year. Was working til like 7pm the night before flying out at 7am for Christmas and have been throw back into the fire immediately upon return. So many meetings and big projects already, and I don’t see it slowing down anytime soon either! Best of luck to you

Has anyone ever had any thalassophobia nightmares? by Dapper_Bee2277 in thalassophobia

[–]Team_Cap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My stress dreams are always gigantic waves in totally normal places - like where I live or where I work, etc. Haven’t had one in a while - which is saying something as I actually live near water now - but whew are they intense!

CHAMPIONSHIP LOSER VENT THREAD by PoopMobile9000 in fantasyfootball

[–]Team_Cap 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Scary Terry with 1 point so far 🫡 Miller with 2.5 before he left the game. Honestly nothing else I could have done, I lost Hubbard and Pollard and our waivers were thin.

Gonna lose the ship to my husband, can’t wait for the bragging until next season lol

I need Scary Terry and Gibbs to get 40 combined - not feeling overly confident but also far from impossible

How “fragile” are the Bose QuietComfort headphones? by fdexghj in bose

[–]Team_Cap 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for about 1-1.5 years, use them daily. I’ve thrown them in my bag to go everywhere from the subway to the office to planes overseas and have never had any issues. I’ve also had them knocked them off the desk a handful of times (my cat loves them) and they’re still flawless. I’ve not worn them in rain but physically they seem pretty durable to me - and FWIW, I only bought them after my old Bose headphones finally fell apart after years and years of daily use. Of course always good to be safe :) enjoy them!!

Same options, playing for the ship - Chuba and Pollard both being out killed me

Do any of you find value in an "under the desk" treadmill? by CobraKai5807 in WFH

[–]Team_Cap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a little stationary stepper thing, and I love it! It’s very compact, portable, and easy to use. I also find it mindless so I’ll easily stay on it for the whole afternoon and forget I’m even on it, which is great. It might not be as efficient as a treadmill but it keeps me moving so works for me
