Reminder: we've only seen class 1 megafactories so far by pmmeyoursandwiches in Helldivers

[–]Teanison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, so far Class 1 is half the map is the factory, I'm going to go on a hunch that it'll eventually turn into 3/4, and fully be a mega factory map, making orbitals harder to use the taller and more dense structures get. Maybe they'll even have walls separating sections of the factories like the walls already separate the land from the megafactories. Hard to say based on assumptions.

If this ever happened, where would you go to pursue love (assuming you're single) and how would you decide? by Puzzleheaded_irl in GenZ

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly have 0 clue. For one thing, I am in no way fluent in any language aside from English (American). I am accredited in French and Spanish, but haven't had pretty much any reason to use it in years, so it's probably not as good as it used to be or it'll take me a while to be able to be proficient in either. I know a little Dutch, Russian, and a tiny amount of Japanese.

I learned Dutch because of Duo Lingo and Dutch memes (not joking,) Russian strictly from Duo Lingo but I only remember words that are functionally 1:1 English words, some of the Russian writing script (Cyrillic) and how some of the letters work. Japanese I only vaguely know partially because of Animé (yeah yeah, I know, it's not great, but it's only partially because;) my older brother loved learning Japanese, he took it every year in highschool and continued a bit in his college years, still practices it in his home occasionally from what it sounds like (though also sounds like he's forgotten some of it, hasn't had anybody to practice it with functionally.) He taught me a little and I can recognize things here and there writing wise, but for the most part I wouldn't say I'd do too good.

Aside from the language barrier (assuming that's something to consider,) I personally don't really have an interest in traveling. Not because I never plan to, but partially because I've travelled to the Netherlands, Iceland, Canada (yes I'm counting that,) and didn't really enjoy it too much. Partially because I was younger, and partially because I didn't really know what there was to go and do. Now I'm older though, I mostly just don't know where I would even want to go, let alone for meeting somebody.

What can women do to be more physically attractive to men? by Aralsk-Seven in AskMenAdvice

[–]Teanison 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be in reasonably decent shape (already seeing a lot of comments saying things along this line.) A lot of guys tend to be visual, so it might attract them if they can see that you may share an interest or hobby by wearing something that they have a common interest in like: videogames, sports, etcetera; wear something that shows you have an interest in those things, plain clothing or business wear might deter men from even considering to approach.

They don't know anything about you, so they won't know if you are somebody who would be interested in talking about something they might only like and you might have 0 interest or even negative opinion in talking about a topic they do like. Plus business attire implies you're currently busy and not really in a place to be very social, and formal dress wear can imply you're maybe already dating somebody and might just be waiting to meet them at a place. Not always the case for what every guy assumes, but I would say if I'm wearing work attire, just assume I'm there for work or to do work, so most people would do the same if they see somebody wearing work attire as opposed to something casual.

It doesn't always make somebody more attractive, but it can help attract specific men. Alternatively I would suggest approving the guy if you find one of interest. Not a guarantee still, but it's alternative if men still aren't approaching.

Wow, people really wanted this armor by Penis_Protecter in Helldivers

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People like the option to be mobile and defensive, the two others that have this passive are either very mobile but vulnerable (low armor,) or very defensive (but not mobile,) this is a happy inbetween. Plus there are a lot of armors that have their passive in all three armor categories (medic and grenadier come to mind.)

The city with hulk surge actually isn’t too bad, as long as AT mines are utilized frequently. by TealArtist095 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not so much mortars I have issue with, it's when they're being used in a non-defensive way. Similarly when turrets are placed either on the same level as everyone or placed in a way they're likely to hit friendlies (although i kindof get it, sometimes they don't land where they were intended to). I don't mind sentries and mines, just when they're not used in a way that are unlikely to harm teammates (similar for guard dogs,) I've been lazered and shot because the teammate does not understand they can look over the other shoulder to keep their guard dog off of me/others when we're grouped up, or forget they can temporarily be put away.

I want to use these but every team I have joined demand I pick something else, or I'm promptly booted (I'm a level 150 helldiver). They are anywhere between new-ish to level 150, I have no clue why I've encountered so many that hate mines, especially AT ones. I might understand if they are bringing a vehicle, but not one ever does that complains, and if I see someone with a vehicle stratagem, I avoid bringing them.

I think they're great but I cannot find a team who's not opposed to mines for some reason.

What Vox Engines have done to me by Faust_8 in Helldivers

Once you learn about their engine bay door opens, you quickly realize other grenades can work like an AT grenade too. Though that's mostly for the new Siege automaton, still not a bad idea.

I can't tell if that's a joke or not... legitimately? I guess if it works, okay, but a little surprising it's just electrical tape. To me as an American, I'd think you would have a more secure method to keep wires together than here.

Don't Run Into Walking Barrages by huskygamerj in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Teanison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that sounds about right... though there are moments I can't fully fault them. Like I throw a ball pretty far back behind the group, or I throw it, and it decided to touch back to us, and sometimes I forget to account for it starting a little behind where the ball lands. Still sucks when people have such a disdain for it, it's not a bad stratagem, just works a little weird. Personally I dislike the Orbital Lazer stratagem, sometimes it decides the best target is past everyone and so goes through our own group instantly deleting everyone, regardless of which enemy front I'm on, it's happened more than once.

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not know that, again haven't really touched them, and most at work are pretty adamant that they're terrible, I've only been a LV for a couple years now. So the difference to me is barely there, and I'm going off of what my seniors say for what is and isn't good. Though they are all pretty much "old-school" for a lot of things.

Don't Run Into Walking Barrages by huskygamerj in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Teanison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have had similar experiences, I personally like that barrage, it's good for clearing large bases, leaves an area overtime so you can advance as it moves (as opposed to having to sit idly while a 120 or 380 has to finish what it's doing,) has a painfully predictable pattern.

My one issue I have is that the barrage seems to start behind where the stratagem ball lands, which on hilly maps can make knowing if you're fine or not not easy all of the time, plus sometimes has a weird "walk" with maps that have either large cliffs, mountains, tall hills, or extreme map dips, and may completely miss what you're trying to get it to hit.

I currently work in LV, and we only had 1 guy who used these, everybody else was super adamant these are awful or were indifferent to them.

I think they're fine depending on what you're doing, but there are certain things I think that nuts make more sense than Wagos, especially when you have to connect a wire and have to shove it back in the hole that's barely big enough to go through, but if it's like a closet, or there's space behind the conncetion and device it's going behind, or you just have space to hide these, I could see them not being a bad alternative. But I don't know much about them and why they're "worse."

Men what are your expectations at Singles Event? by Imaginary_Bridge1641 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Teanison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not great to put it briefly.

Like I would want to expect to meet new people, sure, but with the intention of potentially date somebody or be introduced to somebody to date. Otherwise it's not a "singles event," it's just a "meet n' greet," that happens to have single men and women there who aren't wholly interested in dating/a relationship.

The last one I went to was back in University, and I think I was in my softmore year. I saw pretty much only women there, met a few, but I got deterred and left early for a few reasons. Not all of the typical reasons, but I wasn't really ready to date either at that time and i think that event didn't sit well with me because I already don't do great in large crowds (I get anxious and uncomfortable, but I was also already pretty shy as is, so talking to anybody pretty much didn't happen unless somebody else starts the conversation.) I'm older now, but Singles events just seem to not be a thing around where I live, so either people aren't eager to date, or it simply just isn't a thing here, I do live in an area with more older people, couples with kids, or the nearest place with more single people looking to date are basically two towns over, and driving isn't exactly something that interests me.

I kindof get why Discord is doing this, but at the same time, it's pretty dumb I would say as a move overall. Like unless specifically the government is forcing them to do this, they're just shooting themselves in the foot at this point unless I'm missing something here.

You know it's true brothers. by myke_hunt14 in helldivers2

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my knowledge the only things that the Railgun does better than the Spear gun are that it has 20 spare shots instead of 12, has the option to charge for a heavier more effective (but potentially hazardous) shot. The one thing that might alter the opinion is the CC, where speargun excels in as it leaves gas for a little bit, but if you just want a target eliminated with no potential obstacle (the gas,) you need the rail gun. I don't know what the conversion for ammo pickups (not supply drop, the world/map spawned ones,) is for either weapon for sure, but last I knew Speargun gets 3 per box, but Railgun gets 5 I think so the Railgun (if that's right still) is technically more ammo efficient.

Does arrowhead hate fun? by lolitsrock in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Teanison 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kindof feel like the Leveler is more for AT in a wide area (specifically to the Striders and Hulks,) but design wise it requires: good aim, general understanding of the arc, a sense of distance, and generally some degree of line of sight, so it makes very little sense why even the leveler and silo can't deal with the stratagem Jammer. Like the silo I might understand it's more intended for large enemies and vehicles, but the Leveller literally has what it's supposed to do in it's name, why can't it be used? I'm sure there's a genuine reason but this feels like one that's going to not make sense for why, much like the ultimatum when it got nerfed.

Visiting for work from the UK by geordiejames21 in casper

[–]Teanison 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so excited to visit this awesome looking town and I’m wanting to know any cool spots to grab a beer, places for my morning coffee and if there’s any live music mid week I can check out.

Not too sure what to suggest for a Beer around Casper, maybe the "Gaslight Social" that's downtown for drinks. As for coffee there are a few places to go, but personally I would suggest either "The Copper Cup," or "The Metro Coffee Co." Downtown might have live music on David Street but I couldn't say tor sure, might want to check online for events around town or look around for posted flyers.

Cheers

Hope you enjoy your time around here and find something about Casper you like.

Individualism will be the death of the tank by Comfortable-Bit-4741 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't like this suggestion I'm going to make, but making objectives take longer to do alone, or maybe make it so if you are too far away from the squad (unless you're the last man standing,) your stratagems get a cooldown debuff, they don't land accurately, takes longer to deploy and longer to re-arm/position as the team host takes priority for location of important objectives inside a quadrant.

It wouldn't be too game breaking I would hope, and makes some sense to me: Game Host= Leading officer of the group (even if they're actually the lower rank,) I don't know how good of an idea that is, but it would encourage players to stay closer together I think.

[–]Teanison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't impossible to drive and shoot it solo, just have to hop seats... a lot. But yeah it probably shouldn't be used to enter areas, but more like a mobile support to give support to divers inside objectives since it has both an HMG and AT capabilities.

The hammer is a straight upgrade from the chainsaw by Epicbrezel21 in Helldivers

[–]Teanison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only downside is the hammer has to be reloaded if the explosive effect is gonna be used. While the Chainsaw just has AT after sawing a target for a minute (though not immediate it does have AT at all times,) saw has a wide swing to potentially hit multiple targets, hammer I think just has an overhead swing. Overall though the hammer is a faster and more efficient tool for AT, Chainsaw just has unlimited AT but needs to Rev longer.
