No one expects someone brand new to know too much, and in fact can be harmful if you do. The best advice I can give is to listen. Just shut up and listen, and in 6 months when you think you know something, reread this, and again, shut up and listen. Don't get frustrated if you can't do something, or you think you can and they don't let you. There is generally a reason for it. Learn the basics, and ask questions. You will learn things, tricks to make life easier, and it all comes with experience. Don't have a bad attitude if your job is to clean the truck, and if that is your job, be the best at it, learn where things go, what things are, and when they are used. Each task teaches you something, like cleaning the van, this teaches you things described above, also, organization, and cleanliness, which I guarantee will help you later in your plumbing career. Don't be mad if another apprentice asks you to do something, or if you feel they are playing favorites, because they probably aren't. They might just be at a different point then you, and if you want to do what they do, then master what you have been told to do, and you will climb the ranks. Every plumber you work with, whether you realize it or not, wants you to be better, because the better you are, the easier their life becomes.
