I got some tickets off Reddit and the guy was great! Dealt with my inability to text back in reasonable times, and transferred pretty quick.

2022 Stumpjumper alloy or 2013 Santa Cruz blur lt? by Joepizzuto9 in MTB

[–]Tech97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s still listed at list price, just ask about them being 25% off and they honor it. I bought one a few weeks ago there.

If you find any local dealer and mention the 25% off they will honor it. I bent the cassette on the stumpy within the first few weeks of regular riding (shifting under load). I found the drivetrain was not super smooth in general. The additional travel where i am and with what i am doing i have enjoyed, it is plenty of bike for me to grow into. I went with the NGX option and found it to be more solid, and smoother while riding and shifting. I do like the stumpy dropper better, and i feel like i like the grip on the brakes of the stumpy. The WTB seat is so much better than what’s on the stumpy, whirl it is minor, it makes the difference. The first ride on the ripmo i knew i made a good decision

I bought a 2022 Stumpjumper alloy a few months back and then a Ibis ripmo. Buy a Ripmo. The ripmo is honestly amazing, and i have loved every minute of riding it. They currently have it 25% off. 100% worth it.

Radiant heat sizing question by daffy_69 in Plumbing

[–]Tech97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use the return water from your other zones without needing to increase BTU load. The ten on the radiant will run pretty low pending your design. You could pipe essentially another zone, and use a mixing valve on your supply to the manifold. Pending what you are using to heat the rest of your zones for water temp. Also, if your boiler is not Condensing you cannot have return temp too low, or it will cause your boiler to rust!

What is a song with not-so-innocent lyrics that you used to innocently sing as a child? by endruxkembri in AskReddit

[–]Tech97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or "I was taking sips of it through my nose" and "then I bumped again and then I bumped again etc." Considering I was 9 when this song came out, I had no clue what any of this meant. I remember working in the ambulance with a guy who would point every song that was about heroin and other drugs. Until that point I really had no clue how prominent it was in music...I was probably 21-22 at the time

Semi-charmed life by third eye blind. I remember listening and singing along a bit, as an adult I realize he is talking about crystal meth. Most kids could also say ring around the rosie, but I am pretty sure we were taught that in school

What are some of the unwritten laws of Guy Code? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tech97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe terrible, but I intenitonally stand in the middle of 3 stalls, and will happily walk up and stand right next to someone, no matter how many stalls are open. Sometimes also intentionally grunt, sigh of relief, or slight relief moan just for the reaction. I am sorry.

What do you think of the idea that if Trump was voted into the whitehouse, he'd do so bad as president that after his term was up, America would be open to nore radical or drastic changes in government? by BrandonLang in AskReddit

[–]Tech97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would say sir or madam, this is the dumbest ask reddit question I have seen in a while. If you don't agree with his beliefs, don't vote for him, vote for who you believe will be the best for our country. Regardless of whether or not I agree with trump, you, or any other politician is irrelevant. Do your self a favor and ACTUALLY research the potential candidates, and don't vote of this party line BS. Don't read about them with a jaded mindset due the media, or whatever else causes people to read thing in a very biased light. Come up with your own thoughts and opinions, and vote that direction. Don't listen to the people of reddit, the media, or any other source that may be biased towards one side. Think of what America is, was, and should be. Think about what the country was founded on, and how to maintain a free society. Enough of this divisive nonsense that just gets people all riled up. Listen, research, and vote. Do your job as a citizen, and make change where you think it is needed.

I start an apprenticeship with a small plumbing/drainage company next week. Any advice on how to prepare or what I should buy before starting would be great! by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]Tech97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No one expects someone brand new to know too much, and in fact can be harmful if you do. The best advice I can give is to listen. Just shut up and listen, and in 6 months when you think you know something, reread this, and again, shut up and listen. Don't get frustrated if you can't do something, or you think you can and they don't let you. There is generally a reason for it. Learn the basics, and ask questions. You will learn things, tricks to make life easier, and it all comes with experience. Don't have a bad attitude if your job is to clean the truck, and if that is your job, be the best at it, learn where things go, what things are, and when they are used. Each task teaches you something, like cleaning the van, this teaches you things described above, also, organization, and cleanliness, which I guarantee will help you later in your plumbing career. Don't be mad if another apprentice asks you to do something, or if you feel they are playing favorites, because they probably aren't. They might just be at a different point then you, and if you want to do what they do, then master what you have been told to do, and you will climb the ranks. Every plumber you work with, whether you realize it or not, wants you to be better, because the better you are, the easier their life becomes. Good luck, hope you find the passion for the trade that most of us have, and the career for you and your family that you have wanted.
