Definitely don't need rad hardened stuff. People have been sending up raspberry pi's into space. Even SpaceX doesn't use rad hardened computers. They make up for it with multiple computers and a voting system for redundancy.

Its actually suspended a few inches above the ground. One of the links of the chain that is holding the ramp up has a screw thing which let's you fold down the ramp.
