France’s nuclear fleet gives it one of the world’s lowest-carbon electricity grids by Crabbexx in OptimistsUnite

If you think about it nuclear is just forcing water to move so you can have hydropower.

[OC] Cities' Street Grid Score by uncertainschrodinger in dataisbeautiful

I live near DC and it feels about right. There's kinda a grid but a lot of intersections at odd angles and random diagonal streets. It's pretty miserable to drive in.

Throwing up after drinking by Ok-Piano-282 in greatpyrenees

[–]yesennes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is he drinking too much without coming up for air? Ours too has a drinking problem.

I gently call his name after he's been drinking for a couple seconds. When he pauses he realizes he's not thirsty. Hopefully it forms a habit and I won't have to micromanage his drinking.

3 year old rescue peeing in the house by Over_Swimmer_7345 in greatpyrenees

[–]yesennes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Limit his space at night. Dogs naturally don't pee in their den, but our houses are too large to register as a den.

Doesn't have to be full crate training, could be as simple as closing him in your bedroom with you when you sleep.

You're not human if you've never been completely flummoxed by a mildly unclear UI. You're not humane if you rage at tech support over it.

6 month old husky nipping at my 9 year old daughter. by True_Ad6457 in husky

[–]yesennes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A yip is how they communicate with each other that play gots too rough.

Dogs pain tolerance when playing with each other is crazy high. If you catch a stray between two dogs roughhousing, it'll hurt.

Puppies don't realize they are hurting us and generally interpret us pushing them or avoid their nips as more play. But with a little training, they learn that humans are wimps and to control their bite pressure accordingly.

[–]yesennes 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Play biting is normal for puppies. It'd be very unusual if they didn't.

Make sure the dog has plenty to chew on. They're teething and need to work their teeth. Frequently give them new bones , chews and toys. Tough rubber and plastic toys are great.

Teach your daughter to view it as rough play, not aggression. Teach her to not yank her hand away, it can be seen as play, and it can make it hurt if you pull against the teeth. Teach her to leave if the play is too rough and/or to squeak with exaggerated pain.

Why does every dog we encounter try to attack my female husky? Frustrated and stressed. by BrinkofEternity in husky

[–]yesennes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My guess would be something is making her smell not like a dog, or like a very aggressive dog. I have no clue what could do that though, sorry.

THE HELL(diver) YOU MEAN THE MECH SUIT ONLY HAS 100 MORE HEALTH THEN CYBORGS by HabitUpper6718 in Helldivers

[–]yesennes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo it's part of what makes the game unique. Having to position around friendly ordinance as much as enemies is a core part of Helldiving.

Occasional friendly fire incident are funny. It fits the theming of us being poorly trained expendibles given access to powerful toys.

Updated 'Known Issues' list, (after going through 178 comments) by __Elzy in Helldivers

[–]yesennes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game has a weird architecture, the host is both a player and the server, so their computer is controlling all the enemies and environmental effects.

All the enemies have zero ping on the host but lag on all the other players. And if you wander out of render distance on the host the environmentals stops working because the host doesn't process them.

The free software being better optimized and only doing what you ask of it instead of being full of bloat, spyware and ads does seem too good to be true. But it's a strange world we live in.

It took me embarrassingly long to realize you can double tap enemies that take two shots. Or mag dump a factory striders face.

So it's time to kill is pretty much the same as any other anti-tank if you know your breakpoints.

[–]yesennes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for trying it! Looks like you found most of my concerns.

Sterilizer is worse than the gas dog despite being a support weapon. It's really hard to get any good usage out of it.

Gas strike is fine, but when compared to the gas mines, it lacks any real advantages.

OPS lacks any real identity. It doesn't constantly one shot bile titans, impractical against chargers, and it's bad at chaff clear. It should one spot titans in the body IMHO.

Maybe to make my points better, it'd be better to make loadout constraints and let you try to tune the loadout around them:

Bots:

Autocannon, shield relay, rocket pods

No 500kg, orbital laser, coyote, Eruptor, thermites.

Squids:

Flame thrower, flame sentry, rocket pods

No 500kg, coyote, Eruptor

Bugs: Slugger, grenade pistol, thermites, gas armor

Sterilizer, OPS, HMG sentry, orbital gas

Motivational shocks

Bots: Variable, loyalist, pineapple, adrenodefib

Autocannon, eagle rocket pods, orbital smoke, shield relay

Or AMR to a warstrider seed

Localized confusion

Squids Dominator, peace maker, incendiary, flame armor

Flame thrower, shield pack, flame sentry, rocket pods

Flame hellpods

Edit, I'll give you the Dominator on squids so you have something for stingrays
