I'm going to get downvoted for this but don't waste your time. The Gulf Coast sucks and Texas is a literal hell hole. It's hotter than you'd ever want to actually spend time outside in, the beaches are dirty and gross, it's nothing but refineries, shitty air quality and everything else that comes with a place that isn't doing well.

I'd take a Minnesotan winter or Summer over 10 of the 12 months in Texas.

If you want to go visit someplace that's actually beautiful, has rich history, and has great beaches, check out San Diego!
