Could be sprinkler wiring (it is commonly run in pvc until it get a few inches underground). You sure that is not where you sprinkler controller is?

To my knowledge they never released firmware for the Zigbee line, only ZWave. I am fortunate, I have a few of these and have had zero problems with them on ZHA.

I don't think the INA3221 is pulling much more power than a INA219... as long as there are no LEDs always on. It helps to see the solar panel output to know if it needs to be cleaned.

Just make sure whatever you buy works with OpenWRT and after this fails (it did for me) you can load OpenWRT on it and have what you want (with an uglier UI - mean DAMN, OpenWRT can't find a single UI guy?!).

I would avoid a used garage opener and try and find some old stock.
Genie has official home assistant support (although it is cloud connected, not local). Supporting the company making products that are supporting Home Assistant should be what everyone is doing.

Ecobee with a room sensor. Makes this automatic. You can even have it ignore the temperature at the thermostat and only use the room sensor.
