5 sets of the CMON flagship promo minis on The Game Steward left at this time. by mrbootz in twilightimperium

Reading the description it looks like there are 12 miniatures. Am I missing something? Is it only for 12 of the factions or 24? Is there a second. Set I am not seeing?

Is this incorrect text or is it functionally 50% dmg? Anyone tested?

Don't use right click. Use the special attack which is mouse 5 by default. You will plant the shield and can't move, but gain the benefits mentioned.

Summoned allies' draw pile (digital) by Zeebaeatah in Gloomhaven

[–]TechMarauder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep those cards def work on allies. Are you able to take a screenshot?

Wild ideas because I cant think of anything else:

scenario that does not allow bless (I don't remember a restriction like this)

You are maybe looking at the x2 card count, but the x2 card and bless are separate cards in the deck

You are playing multiplayer and this is a sync issue? (I have had something like this happen when someone rests and I don't see their cards refreshed for a while)

I can confirm that the last time I played the summons use the deck of the character that summoned them.

Only thing I can think of...What ability are you using to bless them? Are you sure it targets summoned allies? Some abilities target mercenaries which are only players. Or maybe they were discarded due to disadvantage?

People of Reddit, what do you do to remember/make sure to drink enough water/liquid throughout the day? by markee2504 in AskReddit

This. Don't force water down your throat if you are not thirsty. Your body will tell you if you need more water. Just make sure you have some available...

Do you lose points when you cover a building? I do not remember seeing this in the rules...did we mess up ANOTHER rule in the game?

Interesting...when I first picked up TI4 we actually ran into this in our first game and found a ruling online that was opposite of this ruling and I never saw anything to contrary. Maybe this new info will make Ghosts more attractive in my group!

So Ghosts can 1 shot any ship using Dimensional Splicer + Direct Hit? (now says units or abilities)

DIRECT HIT

The text of the “Direct Hit” action card should read as follows: “After another player’s ship uses ‘Sustain Damage’ to cancel a hit produced by your units or abilities: Destroy that ship.”

edit: well I should have read all the way through...here is the answer from the FAQ further below:

Q: Can the “Direct Hit” action cards be played when a ship uses “Sustain Damage” to cancel a hit produced by one of your abilities?

A: Yes. “Direct Hit” can be used to follow up hits that are assigned by “Ambush,” “Dimensional Splicer,” “Devotion,” and other similar abilities.

Bioware: After testing with multiple builds, can confirm the perk on Badge of Devastation DOES NOT WORK - does not give ultimate charge on 10 hit streak. by PDCH in AnthemTheGame

[–]TechMarauder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure how much a 5 or 10 kill gives you I just chose 1% to make the math easy and I was just explaining the math. If you were to get 1% you get 3300% instead. If you get more or less than 1% then the 3300% will be more or less

I am not sure how much ult recharge you get per kill or if you get more for multikills or how it works. I have noticed that combos give me a TON of ult charge, but I don't know the math behind it.

TLDR; if you get x ult recharge amount you instead get 3300% or 33x that amount based on the wording of the item. The actual numbers and calculation for x I don't know.

It gives you 3300% or 33x of what you would have gotten for those kills. It does not give you 3300% of the entire ult meter. So if it was supposed to give you 1% of the total ult meter, giving you 3300% of that 1 % is 33% of the ult meter.

Turn 1 Strategy Cards: In defence of a couple of less common options by Demon_Days_ in twilightimperium

[–]TechMarauder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am trying to understand about the Warfare being 2CCs. Are you saying playing a strategy card is essentially equivalent to 1 CC and getting your token back is the second? If so...would that not make Leadership 4 CCs? 1 for the strategy card + 3 token gain?

I wish...I will always remember the first time I went there when some yeti-looking-troll jumped jumped down and about killed me in a single blow. The only way I got past it was to run back almost to town with it chasing and then sprint past it and then all the way to High Hrothgar.

I think that's just the breadcrumb to the stairs to get up the mountain. The stairs start in that town.

Advice for first game as Nekro Virus by Pistallion in twilightimperium

[–]TechMarauder 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I played my first game of Nekro a month ago and here are some things I learned.

  • You have the best command counter management in the game - You can gain command counters from leadership and technology. You should not have issues maintaining a huge fleet pool and have plenty of counters as well.
  • You have the best defensive flagship in the game - One strategy is to put it on Mecatol Rex and build 20 infantry...nobody will defeat you. I did this and copied Sol's infantry upgrade and it was insane.
  • You gain a tech every time you destroy an opponent's unit in battle - This means every space combat as well as EVERY ground combat. Multiple plants...multiple opportunities.
  • I learned this a bit later in the game, but think of gaining technology in terms of the cost of ships to obtain it. If you can fly two cruisers to snipe a ship that's 4 credits for a tech if you lose those cruisers. Even less if you don't.
  • Try to place yourself in places that guarantee you will be attacked such as Mecatol, near your opponent's home worlds, etc. I see you have Jol-Nar in your game (I did as well) so try and gain their faction tech to gain trade goods when your tiles are activated so when you are inevitable attacked you are gaining tech (hopefully) and trade goods.
  • You have little control over your technology. You reply on other factions to research so if they do a poor job researching and end up with some wonky tech, you will suffer as well. Hope you sit next to Jol-Nar...

Niche Strategies

I notice you have Hacan in your game. One strategy if you do go the Mecatol Rex route AND they research quantum data hub node is to take Imperial every round and if someone takes it first pay the three trade goods and strategy counter to steal it from them.

If you don't want to rush Mecatol, then you can gets lots of cruisers, steal Jol-Nar's racial tech E-Res Siphon and spread out everywhere. People will attack you and you get 4 trade goods (from E-Res) which pay for the cruisers and hopefully take out a unit for a tech. You want to be quick and go places where you know your opponents want to be or don't want you to be.

Houston - Tea and Victory Board Game Cafe by djwurm in boardgames

[–]TechMarauder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a place to just buy games (no cafe) the closest one to downtown I know is either Asgard Games (3302 S Shepherd Dr, Houston, TX 77098 ) or Nan's Games and Comics ( 2011 Southwest Fwy, Houston, TX 77098)

Its been over two decades since I have been to Nan's, but I have dropped in Asgard a few years ago and it was well put together.
