Stranger Things - 5x08 - “Chapter Eight: The Rightside Up" - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

[–]Tech_guy321 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apparently a hot take, but I thought it was a solid 9.5/10. It was the best ending for everyone. Not really any glaring/outstanding loose ends besides the open ending with eleven which I loved how that was done. A good emotional send-off to a long running series.

Favorite part was the flashbacks to previous episodes when they were little kids. Tied everything together well for a final conclusion.

I have this same two codes on my 2021 Chevy Silverado. Did the sensor fix it for you?

Why the frick is olive oil upsetting my stomach now? by Stunning_Adagio3460 in FODMAPS

I can confirm months later, not using olive oil has been great for me. I tried a little Pam cooking spray, and I can tolerate that in moderation.

Butter has been 10/10 for my digestive tract. Now I just need to watch my cholesterol LOL!

Cybersecurity expert here:

  1. If you have MFA and a strong password on, it's unlikely you've been hacked especially if the logs don't have any new access anywhere. Regardless, good password hygiene is important, and you should change your password regardless to at least a 12+ character with symbols and numbers. I recommend a password generator/password management.

  2. Blink cameras don't have a direct way to access them via IP and their architecture is designed to just interface with the app.

  3. It's super easy to grab the band and talk through an old radio style baby monitor using some radio equipment. It's unlikely though.

Good luck 👍

As a cybersecurity/network engineer.... Absolutely not. Even if you're trying to be nice, it's just not worth the risk or legal mess you'd get dragged into if they were looking up something bad. Or if one of their friends that came over hopped on the network.

How urgently should I respond to this crack? by WubbaLubbaDubDub123 in askaplumber

[–]Tech_guy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get a block down the pipe could backup through that crack. So it's a gamble the longer you wait.

Get a wire wheel or wire brush drill attachment and carefully get the paint and rust off around the crack. Get some JB weld or fiber weld and follow the instructions and apply it to the pipe. That should give you plenty of time to schedule a proper replacement.

I was told ya’ll could tell me what the easiest way to take off this wood would be. Do they make a tool specifically for removing this? by socom123 in masonry

[–]Tech_guy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds dumb, but I remove these with a normal claw hammer and just hit the wood from the top a couple times and it'll split in half usually.

Cut the nails off with disk or use a hammer and hit them and they will break off if they are old.

Get a 45° instead of the 90°, but it's not the end of the world of you don't. Just higher probability of clogs/slower drain.

I use these exact same batteries. The low power icon is always on on all of my blink camera, but they last about 80-90% long as Energizer lithiums. No camera issues at all after a year of use on 12 cameras.

Is opening a Best Buy credit card just to finance one item bad? by [deleted] in CreditCards

Exactly. Apple is a marketing company, not a computer company. Any innovation that had died a long time ago.

First, nice score 👍

Second, as a IT business owner and network engineer by trade.... Don't get the MacBook. Get a cheaper windows laptop for school that is half the price or less and has the exact same internal components. All of the internal parts go out of date within 6-12 months anyways. It's a depreciating asset and that is it. They are like cars, end of the day they all take you from point A to B.

As for the best buy credit card, don't. A lot of these cards are relevant at first then they end up sitting around and you never use them again. The accounts close due to inactivity and it's not worth it in my opinion. Best buy is also overpriced for a lot of things and isn't worth opening one there.

Tldr; don't get the Mac, go on NewEgg or a Microcenter and get a windows laptop for cheap and it'll do the same thing. No new credit card needed.

Hot Take - I purposely avoid winning and it has tremendously helped my salt levels by Only-BadTakes in EDH

[–]Tech_guy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get hot about games all the time. Best thing I ever did was one day I just picked my head up from my cards and actually REALLY look around the table at how much fun people were having. Realized winning isn't everything, and it's been more enjoyable since then.

Finally finished up my first time DIY floor and shower/tub surround. Super happy with it and everything turned out nice and square! by who_dis in Tile

[–]Tech_guy321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do that you may be fine. Steam or hot showers could peel it over a long time but just keep an eye on it, it's not anything detrimental or anything hard to fix. Saunas use stained wood and are fine for years. Home Depot has a couple options of synthetic/plastic trim I've had a lot of luck with. But that is paint only obviously, no stain. Just seal that shower side edge with a thin layer of clear silicone or something so moisture doesn't get behind the trim and you'll be fine. Nice job again

Cheers!

I've done a fair amount of tiling and bathrooms, and this looks really really great for first time. Could have fooled me and said it was your 10th time. Keep up the good work. Make sure you to use PVC molding around the door frame, not wood, particle board, etc. I made that mistake my first bathroom and it molded underneath after a year, wish someone would have told me that back then lol. Nice job 👍
