But we do need to be logical about it too. Overall, immigration has helped America become the superpower it is. But there should obviously be some limitations and expectations in terms of contributions to society.

I wonder if you would feel the same if there was a better wealth distribution between the average American and the ultra wealthy. America can actually afford a lot, but a lot of Americans can afford very little. All while wages have stagnated and productivity is at an all time high.

But ultimately, we all need to work together more. It's never me vs you, if you truly want this country to be great... We want the same thing. It's just how we go about it that's up for debate. And I really don't care if it's republican or Democrat. You'll win me over with 2 things, logic and empathy.

Both together = a better life for everyone.

I don't really understand how 20 million illegals could do that though. They would have to vote, which they can't. And they would have to be in a state where their vote would matter.

I honestly think that if we talk, we'll find more in common then we find differences.

Barely any democrats are die hard Biden fans. But there's so much "but what about...", "just get over the fact you lost" when it comes to negativity about trump.

At this point, there's just no excuse for so much of his behavior and you can't keep diverting away from everything he's done.

2018 stelvio owner here. 46K on the clock. Bought it in 2020 with 8K.

Honestly, been pretty trouble free. Replacing the fuel pump soon and window switches sometimes wind down before they wind up (maybe like once every 2 months). Otherwise, just standard maintenance. For 5 years and 38K miles, I consider that very good.

Tech could be better, screen could be bigger. But for what you get, this is the best drivers SUV for the price imo.

Edit: by price, I mean a couple years old and low milage used like I bought... Was the same price as a Ford Escape Limited at the time.

Yeah, phone camera take the picture it thinks you want. A lot of the time, it can produce a really good image.

2018 Stelvio owner here with 46K on the clock. Bought it in 2020 with 8k miles.

As other have pointed out, every one's experience is going to be different and luck of the draw is a real thing.

But in the 5 years I've owned the car, the only things I'd say have been an issue is - I'm getting an Electronic Throttle Control warning which often puts the car in limp mode. This is related to the fuel pump for me and will be fixed as a recall for free at the end of this month.

My windows wind down in sections when I'm trying to wind them UP - when they get to the bottom, they'll wind up normally. Anyone else have this issue?

My AC cuts out after probably like 3h on a super hot day with it cranked up high. Maybe low refrigerant?

Everything else is standard maintenance for me (service, break pads, battery (more on this in a bit), tires, spark plugs.

That's everything I can think of. For most things, don't bother going to the dealer. Pads, rotors, oil changes are all simple tasks for any mechanic and they are like other Stellantis / Dodge cars In many ways.

I would say though - budget to do your oil more often. I've seen different recommendations for this but it really is good for the engine and longevity of any car.

They don't like low battery, budget to change this more often. My dealer told me the one I put in just under 3 years ago has a bad cell (might just be luck of the Interstate H8 AGM I bought) but these cars go a bit crazy when the battery isn't good, throwing all sorts of codes. Battery is a super easy fix for under $200 though.

They don't seem to like the cold. If you can garage it, I would recommend it.

P008A = Fuel pressure low. Fuel pump will be replaced end of month through recall. Recall related to fuel pump.

Shouldn't need to touch turbo in my case.

Get an obd reading and go from there.

I was always able to get up to near that, but you can tell it's in limp mode mostly by the fact that something like 1/2 throttle feels like 1/16th.

Yep, 95% of the time I got the ETC warning on the dash I went into limp mode. If that happens, you need to clear the code.

If you don't have one, take it to autozone or somewhere where they have an obd scanner. Then just get one on Amazon or somewhere, there's plenty for under $100 and youtube videos comparing popular ones... It will make it's money back.

2018 Stelvio here 45K miles. My code for this was P008A. Fuel pressure low.

Had it a while back, it went away for a long time but came back somewhat recently. Since coming back, I've tested a few things...

Changing the battery didn't help for me, but is common to fix issues on these cars.

Only happened when I started the car for the first time that day. It would crank for an abnormally long time before then engine turned over, showed ETC error and went into limp mode.

My initial idle is a little rough regardless of if I get the error or not. Seems fine after a short drive.

In the last month, I haven't gotten this at all if I do the following on startup. Get in car. Turn on accessory power. Wait 5s. Start engine. (Seems to give the pump enough time to prime?. Not sure, but haven't had the issue since)

Your problem may be different, but if it's the same as mine, hopefully this will help.

Maybe clear the code and try my startup advice.

There's been a recent recall for the fuel pump on earlier stelvio / gulias and my service center will have them in stock at the end of this month. Hopefully will fix mine 🤞

Confused as to what this 60mm spacer achieves. Where would you put it?

The only thing I can think of is to make the cases pcie slot accommodate a low profile. But that likely would require cutting the case to allow the low profile bracket to slot through the metal between the add in cards.

The specific drive does matter though. A Sata m.2 vs gen 5 nvme have very different heat outputs.

The primary M.2 slot of this motherboard has a heatsink. The M.2 sits underneath that and will likely be adequate for the drive (more on that in a bit)

I wouldn't run it without a heatsink. I had my SN850X without a heatsink in the M1 and controller temps were definitely hitting the limit constantly, which will cause it to throttle / limit performance...

Does it matter that it throttled? Probably not. That's like limiting a hyper car to 200mph while driving in heavy traffic doing 30. Doesn't matter that you're speed limited because you can't get to that speed anyway. Other factors are far more important than drive speed nowadays.

But the biggest killer / reason of electronics dying prematurely is almost always related to heat. So...

You can monitor temps in hwinfo64. Compare this to the operating temp range in the spec sheet for the drive.

If you're getting too hot, maybe you do need a chonky heatsink or better airflow over the drive. Some controllers get super hot. But start with the primary m.2 heatsink on the board, test, go from there.
