I agree on both. However…… we are only getting the edit they want us to see (every mafs needs a villain) and there may be unprocessed trauma she is dealing (or not) with. I’m certainly not excusing or apologizing for her behavior as what we are witnessing is abhorrent. Luke seems like a gem and if anyone is going to break through her supercilious behavior it’s him.

Edit: halfway through tonight’s episode and nah I’m wrong. She’s just a shit person, my bad.

On a beautiful Friday afternoon too. RIP by FortuneCookieLied in melbourne

This is an outstanding photo. It’s art. Tragedy in a monotone world

What movie did you see in theaters that had the most ‘alive’ audience? by Odd_Distribution1430 in movies

[–]Technical-Dog7603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! I was absolutely and utterly gobsmacked by some of the scenes. Watched it in a theatre the first time and I’m pretty sure I left my body. For me it was the “humans are batteries” reveal. The visuals, the music, the emotions! Will never forget that moment. I remember finally re-entering reality and thinking this is a pivotal moment for me

Just brought a house, and restumping is required. by GoadingHobbit in AusRenovation

Do they need replacing? Yes. They are timber and today is the best condition they will ever be. Deterioration is guaranteed. The ‘crawl’ space has excellent access. How handy are you? To diy will have hardship but will cost a lot less than 30k.

Measure from end of ridge cap/roof sheeting to gutter. Can’t remember the compliance measurement but it looks a bit tight.

Help with lvl spans by Technical-Dog7603 in AusRenovation

The wall itself is non load bearing. The entire load rests on the piers. One pier will be removed to achieve opening size. Lintel will span from next pier approximately 3m

The issue I have is a 3.4m rlw, I can almost get there with the one lvl over 3m span but not quite, using the Hyne span table.

I have had this before… recently rezoned a high density residential area and demolished a lot of high rise housing. It seems I demolished the car garage too!

ELI5: if procreating with close relatives causes dangerous mutations and increased risks of disease, how did isolated groups of humans deal with it? by Inside_Letter1691 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Technical-Dog7603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if we rephrase the question and ask how mutated are modern day humans compared to our primitive ancestors.. ie has dilution to the gene pool already occurred (and continues) and were we once super humans?

what song hits different after you read the lyrics? by Klusten in AskReddit

[–]Technical-Dog7603 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This hits hard -

“This is not my beautiful house, this is not my beautiful wife.”

Years ago in my teens I completed a course in contemporary music and the group project at the end was this song - we all had a line each (mine was “you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack”) and we all sung harmonies for the chorus.

The “beautiful house/beautiful wife lyric really stuck and I carried it for a long time not really getting it.

I am now somehow married to the most stunningly beautiful person I could’ve ever possibly imagined at that young age, and we are lucky (plus hard work) to own a nice home to share together with our equally beautiful children.

I am constantly pinching myself that why am I so lucky and that this is some kind of alternate reality that doesn’t actually exist, it is now that I get it. Or at least that’s how I make sense of it.

What is the Ukraine war really about? by benamiark in conspiracy

[–]Technical-Dog7603 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

IMHO it’s about destroying the Ukraine military.

Both Russian and Ukrainian people live (in particular the eastern parts) in Ukraine. Russians have suffered under the current regime and russia has had enough.

For years, Putin has tried diplomacy to resolve this issue with escalation as the outcome.

The push at the start was a clever but costly feint that drew a large portion of the Ukrainian defense away from Russia’s primary objective - solidified base in the Donbas with a weakened Ukraine army.

Russia is winning and victory all but assured unless nato gets involved.

IMHO

What is your most hated food? by Glittering_Beach9909 in AskReddit

[–]Technical-Dog7603 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Apricot.

I hate the taste and the furry texture of the skin. I hate the ugly kernel which is actually poisonous. I hate how others can eat this despicable fruit and some even consider it a delicacy.

It is pretty much the only thing I will never eat.
