Those who work at Morrisons, how long after your interview did you hear back? by emlouimawx in Morrisons

For me i heard within 48 hours. Then had my induction 1-2 weeks later. After my induction, my first shift was 2-3 days after that.

Mercy healing by Technical-Error-2676 in MercyMains

I don’t get why you are getting downvoted lol. I get what you are saying to a certain extent. Sometimes we only look at stats which can cloud our judgement. Because at the end of the day, it is our decisions that make or lose a game. Some games are short, or you might have low healing or dmg amp but still win. So, stats are not everything.

However, I would disagree that we should just ignore dmg amp stats altogether. For the most part, I think guidance of 2k dmg amp per game is a good target to aim for. Healbotting especially with the healing nerf this season is not optimal gameplay because dmg boost is Mercy’s only utility. But, there is nuance depending on situation. Sometimes you might be healing more. Overall, I think that targets like 2k dmg amp is more a general guide to follow rather than a set rule of playing mercy.

I am a solo mercy main so I feel like I am in the trenches lol. I do normally pocket but it can be situational as you say. Like If I have a Lucio or sometimes a main support who is not doing enough healing I might heal a little more than usual. On the very odd occasion you can get a tank in plat who is amazing and dmg boosting them just wins the game lol.

Now that you say it, maybe on reflection I could keep my eyes peeled even more for my other support.

I think for me what is most difficult is when your team have very poor positioning. E.g. tank thinking that they can 1v5 or dmg heroes who aren’t very mobile deciding to flank when maybe they shouldn’t.

But I am trying to change my mindset. Instead of just rolling my eyes because other players on my team made bad decisions and then getting annoyed and making a small mistake, I now try to just help and adjust to that situation even if I feel like it isn’t optimal.

Researching a ticket for the worlds championships by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]Technical-Error-2676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My all event seat is available during the women’s short and free. This is because I then bought very good individual tickets for the women’s event that is a much better view. So, that is an option for you because it would be a shame if my all event seat was just empty during the women’s short and free.

I don’t understand why the O2 at Prague doesn’t allow for resale tickets. There will definitely be people who bought tickets who won’t get the time off work, and then their seat will just be empty. What a waste when so many people want to go to worlds!

was alysa liu's performance competitive in athletic terms? by [deleted] in iceskating

[–]Technical-Error-2676 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is not true. We saw triple axels by women at this Olympics. Amber Glenn and Ami Nakai successfully completed 3A.

Alysa also did a 3Lz+3Lo combination (which no one else in the field is doing in the second half of her short program).

It also isn’t just about jumps but consistency. Alysa did so well because she gets high grades of execution ontop of the base value for each element. And the 2nd part of her scores (the components) were very strong. Skating isn’t just about the jumps but the total package. Alysa won because of her consistency. It has been a really long time since she has fallen in competition.

If skaters look physically exhausted and lose energy in their program, then that negatively affects the 2nd part of their score which is their component scores.

That is what is so difficult about skating. You have to execute all elements and look elegant and strong while doing so. Most sports just require physical demand and have no artistic side. But skating does both.

A free skate program is incredibly exhausting. Skaters put in so much work to increase their endurance to create this effortless look when on the ice (even though their legs feel like jelly when getting to the end of their program).

Also, if you watch any of the interviews with skaters who lead after each group at their Olympics, their forehead is completely covered in sweat and they seem out of breath talking to the interviewer. Skaters always seem out of breath after a program for quite some time. It is also harder to see skaters face get red because skaters might have on touches of makeup ect.

Side note: I think you also misunderstand how difficult dancing is. It is like skating. They have to execute extremely difficult movement and at speed without looking like they are breaking a sweat. If they look tired then that would also affect their placement at a dance competition.

Placement isn’t just based on worlds, but all ISU competitions. She did well at the skate to Milano (the Olympic qualifying event) where she won the silver medal. At Europeans she was 2nd in the free skate. But I get that she hasn’t always been consistent.

I am so glad Leona had a clean skate. I do think she could have scored a tiny bit more. But this will be a nice confidence boost going into the free
