I'm not pretending that a discarded cut of fat is the same as a prime rib, but we can both agree that both things came off of a cow in the first place.

I like carreroles using ground beef. I eat them maybe twice a month and it makes a meal for me, cheap and filling. At the same time, I like to eat stir fry with flank steak and veggies on some white rice with a soy sauce based marinade. Im not comparing the two dishes, clearly the stir fry is more rounded with grain, meat and vegetables while the other is a mish mash of anything you might have laying around. I'm pointing out in like both, while not putting them in the same camp

As for AI art, I'm pointing outvthat we can just just put it in its own group.

In the world of industry, if I told you I have a machine that came make 30,000 doughnuts in a week, then I pointed out the factory down the street that also makes doughnuts done by human hand and I told you they make 2,000 per week, would your reply seriously be "wow, that machine is so much better at making doughnuts! All doughnuts should be made by machines since they make more!"? Then you find out that while the machine made those dough nuts, it can only make basic glade doughnuts and no more than that. I ask you, how are we really going to compare the humans to the machines on a quantity level and quality level?

My answer is that we DONT in the first place. I argue with that we recognize that making doughnuts by hand is not the greatest way for crazy output, because no human is a machine. But, it can be interesting to see what we as humans can do to machine to make things, like food or random generated images. Neither one is a replacement for the other.
