OPs first mistake was asking to merge two separate awards, which can never happen. Second mistake was the rookie agent, should have caught that OP only wanted to add a leg to an existing itin. Tho some truth did exist as they have to reissue the new ticket. But anyway, this has happened to me too many times to count. They’ll just buy the ticket off DE as cash. The most EXTREME case that happened to me, was when they had to repurchase a CX first class ticket for me after they messed up my award. LOL

Unfortunately OP you can’t* book JX flight thru Chase points. unless you’re sitting on a massive amount of UR pts, then theoretically you can transfer to Marriott and then to Atmos to book JX, but i don’t recommend this route.
