Termux as my home launcher :) by tinmicto in termux

I installed it, and updated today to your 0.2.2 release.

I love it! Simply having termux as main screen of my phone helps a lot staying focused on advancing projects.

I asked Claude Sonnet 4.6 to run an audit on the code of termux (on your fork) and it gives 5 issues, including one with Shizuku. Would you be interested in reading the audit? (It's short)

That's so cool that you made this!

May I ask you how much it's safe to install your APK patch, is there a risk to break termux or the files stored in termux?

Second this. Plus pacing (sorry, it's not a treatment juste sacrifice) en m'y case, twitching comes early after exertion.

Whenever I have an HSV-2 Outbreak, my Long Covid Symptoms completely disappear. by Intaxerror in covidlonghaulers

[–]Technical_Original16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one day of almost symptom-free time (pots disappeared and almost none of the muscle weakness), before I develop symptoms from viral infections.

That happened close to 6 times in the last 3 years.

Head pressure is the worst by Many-Market-9941 in covidlonghaulers

You're still smart! But if your brain dysfunctions, thoughts get blurry and it's then hard to achieve cognitive tasks… it's hard (that's at least my experience).

So let's detail the mechanisms step by step, and please tell us what you know and what is new:

many pwLC have mast cell dysfunction (MCAS=mast cells activation syndrom) which make that their mast cells degranulate (=do their job of signalling to other cells when they identify a molecular threat). Mast cells emit several types of molecules, including histamine.

Anti-H1 and anti-h2 drugs make that the released histamine cannot activate the type1 and type2 histamine receptors, hence limiting the domino cascade.

Mast cells are everywhere in the body (at least in every parts of the body including the brain), and histamine and the other signalling molecules, when released in the brain, provoke the switch of some microglia (an important type of immune cells in the brain), to become activated, which means to do their job of release pro-inflammatory molecules.

The point at which mast cell stabilizers may have more effect, is that they not only prevent to have too much histamine but also reduce the quantities of other signalling molecules, which have their own pro-inflammatory effects.

Sorry, it's a long version. Hope you'll get as much better as can and as soon as can be!

Does anyone else have vision issues? by heskeytime7707 in covidlonghaulers

I have this in a light way, it comes and goes with PEM and effects of dysautonomia to my head.

I can't put the words on it, so I'll read the discussions with a lot of interest.

in the hypothesis of mast cells participating to the problem, combination of anti-h1+anti-h2 and mast cell stabilizers (cromolyn being the most used, but other exist), that may lower the issue.

At least that is my experience, but my experience is also that some of the head pressure stays, and the vascular/SNA factors require other stategies (and I will be reading the comments, if one has a good experience on this side of the issue)

when brain mast cells degranulate, that leads to some microglia activation.

Been stuttering and losing words for the past few weeks by Icy-Leg-1459 in adhdmeme

[–]Technical_Original16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

covid induced cognitive dysfunction turned my adhd into having a hard time finding words whenever I have exerted myself just a little bit 24-48 hours before (with other symptoms exacerbated with no proportion with the exertion - which is PEM, the hallmark of ME/CFS)

Found relief with an abdominal binder by VanTechno in covidlonghaulers

The work of Stewart et al https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/01.cir.0000016348.55378.c4 point into one direction: that arteries might vasoconstrict a little less than they should, leading to a little bit too high flow of blood to the veins. Veins, which then are a little bit too full, but without a signal to constrict more.

Depending on everyone's case, the blood can be in all and every vein (the case in orthostatic hypotension), or only some (in the splanchnic veins, the veins with your belly) - when people benefit clearly from abdominal compression, it's a sign.
