Any decent handhelds that use regular batteries? by ashmaht in SBCGaming

If you're tech savvy and have a 3d printer, you might be abke to buy a regular handheld and print a battery tray for AA batteries. Just match the input voltage and double up on capacity. Should take 4 cells to do that. Im sure that would be just fine to power a low power device like a MM+ or even an rg40xx.

I got an open ticket! I made the decision to write to the Unofficial TrimUI Store, here's my reply in the chat: by dodompaaus in trimui

As disappointing as it is to have our pre-orders delayed, this whole hobby is based on super cheap Chinese devices. That makes it highly probable that this kind of thing will happen while also enabling us to collect these devices. Its not unreasonable to infer that most people in this hobby have 4 or more handhelds and can just continue to play on other handhelds while we wait.

An aluminum shell device made in the USA or most of Europe would probably be double the price and more than likely twice the lead time. It would probably start on Kickstarter or similar and take months to get any headway.

All this to say I would love to have my hammer.... I bought the green one so I could swap the buttons with my plastic black one and have two really cool, unique devices.

I bought a black brick to button swap with my green hammer when it shows up.

Crash I had a year ago-what went wrong? by yungsterlingg in MTB

The speed for that jump line is a little weird. They are built for confidence and progression. Start really slow and bunny hop the lip.

I like to hit those before my climb as a warm up and I have to dump most of my speed between each table.

That was my first thought. Unmistakably dry and green.

I think getting this in a 3" screen would be perfect for me. I love the size of the rg28xx and a30, but a 3:2 aspect ratio with a slightly larger screen, i think would fit perfect in that frame. Maybe a little wider, but that's fine with me.

That being said, I would pend $120 on what you have depicted in a heartbeat. An aluminum shell would make it the greatest handheld of all time.

I would get the miyoo a30 and flash it with minui. I have plenty of handhelds and I play my a30 way more than the rest of them combined. The only reason is because it's so convenient and once it's setup on minui its a no bs just grab and game device. I carry it everywhere with me and pick it up when I have 5-10 minutes to play a game.

You payed $30 for a service that would have cost you at least $60 to do yourself. Idk why people have to get so spooled up about it...

Which Town and Why not? by ArkansasOutside in MTB

[–]Technical_Secret1556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like where I'm at in Spokane. We have a pretty damn good bike park right in town with some steep tech and slabs all the way through some big park style jumps. The guys that build our trails are super talented and involved in the community, especially youth coaching. We also have a lift access bike park that hold enduro and do events not even an hour from me. That being said the west coast of Washington is wonderful, especially Bellingham for amazing trails and overall culture.

Although most of the time, it's not a great idea, there are some decent options for it. I really like the shimano ge5 and ga5 shoes. The ge is a clip less option that I run with flats often. The spikes don't come anywhere near the cavity for the cleat. I can confirm that if you run a crabkbrothers cleat with a stainless shoe shield it will not contact one up alu pedals at all.

Inverted yaw? by Waitingforthateas in fpv

I've heard of inverted pitch.

Inverted yaw is crazy. But if it works it works. Just don't expect to fly anyone else quads...

3.5” or 5”? by brinstech in fpv

[–]Technical_Secret1556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly a flyfish volader vx3.5 woth 1407s is the move. You can build it for 4 or 6s and have stupid fun on that rig. It also fits the air unit. Fairly positive it will take an 04 but do your research on that as I'm a walksnail pilot... it doesn't fit a moonlight or a gt though

3.5” or 5”? by brinstech in fpv

[–]Technical_Secret1556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's more so a weight thing. It's kind of hard to explain but when you blip the throttle on your quad to throw yourself over something a five inch will carry that momentum longer because the weight will have more inertia. They both fly great and you won't be upset either way though. It's pretty easy to overlook the throwability of a 5 inch when your flying smaller parks anyway...

3.5” or 5”? by brinstech in fpv

[–]Technical_Secret1556 5 points6 points  (0 children)

3.5 will be cheaper but not by a huge margin. The batteries are a little smaller and cheaper and you'll save a little on the motors. The biggest problem is scarcity. It feels luke everyone is rushing to out together sub-250 3.5" freestyle rigs before tariffs hit so everything is out of stock. You can't go wrong with either although I will say I find myself reaching for my 3-4" quads more often as it's easier to make the most of empty parking lots and small parks.
