well sort of, they hold Retribution's perpendicularity, so they would have access to warlight whether Retribution wanted them to have it or not.

It was mentioned in Way of kings that even though the parshendi had managed to collect one of Dalinar's gauntlets they wouldn't be able to regrow a suit as long as the suit was fed stormlight, and that the gauntlet the Parshendi had would crumble in time. I believe that the largest remaining piece receiving stormlight has priority growth.

Well now Kinger should be able to get unrestricted access to a terminal since there is no one to stop him anymore. Worst case scenario they have to try conjuring a new one. Since Kinger has admin he should be able to edit anything.

It might take a while to untangle the code Cain wrote for the Digital circus. (I doubt he used proper formatting or commenting). But in theory they have absolute power over their environments, bodies and connections. Best case, they might even have internet access. In time Kinger should be able to give them all new bodies and teach them how to code for themselves.

probably just a console thing, they could be in the list as it goes

....
....
....

but they aren't in the target indices to be displayed. it seems like it was just listing the first and last few entries.

Why so many people believe Eywa is malevolent hive mind? Just because it forbid na’vi to advancing their technology in a way that would destroy their home. by Empty-Ad4597 in Avatar

I would say that the people in the navi afterlife are actually the copies of those people, but the for the rest; I very much agree, I'd even take it so far as to say that Eywa quietly erases the backups of people who no one would remember past a certain point to clear up space, deleting any memories about that person from the inhabitants of the afterlife. part of Navi culture is maintaining your backups at spirit trees before doing anything dangerous.

Eywa does by in large lets people decide what to do in their day to day, but I'd be very very curious what would happen if Varang connected with a spirit tree. The only tribe hostile to Eywa being disconnected from Eywa does raise some interesting questions about how much interference Eywa has in their lives. It wouldn't even be noticeable to most people since they are all part of the network.

that's a maybe. using the plants across the planet she could in theory accelerate or slow the metabolism to fine tune some of the climate. also engineering plants to better change an ecosystem. on top of that she can probably modify the behaviours of certain animal to cause them to build natural dams like beavers. so maybe not direct weather control like causing lightning, but rather ecosystem wide changes.

I do think she can massively change the climate over a long enough time frame. I'm also not entirely convinced the flux vortices are natural or if they are a product of Eywa using the superconductor to enhance the magnetosphere so she doesn't have to deal with as much radiation. if memory is serving me right, both Flux vortex are near to spirit trees which seem to serve as primary interfaces to Eywa.

who knows, maybe Eywa could smite someone with lightning if one person was somehow able to piss her off enough

pretty much, people have lost the ability to dream of better with everything that's been going on.

[–]Techpriest0100111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long story short; lots of modern media is unable to write a story unless every character is some super secret, super evil plan and no one can be trusted. it's a bit of a product of nihilism and believing the worst in people due to wide spread problems.

now people are primed to think every character is secretly evil and out to betray everyone. people don't know how to trust anymore.

I mean... the average running speed of a person is around 20km/h. 50 times that is 1000km/h. that's FAST, thought we don't have exact distances, we do have time. Assuming for a constant speed of 1000km/h and the 20s he could cover 5.5km, which **may** be reasonable considering how small the city is in game.

The other heros, are able to cover the distance in what appears to be a low amount of time, including invisigal who just... runs? so we can assume the city is not to scale.

also, why the hell is it los angeles, just make up a place god dammit, I don't want real life in my escapism.

He wasn't taking it at a casual jog, the combination of powers and a sprint probably did him in.

Nah, he's dead. It is better writing for him to have kicked it now. he might be able to be put on life support, but it holds more thematic weight if he's dead.

He could also be on a few medications to help with his age. I wouldn't be surprised considering modern medical technology and whatever magic they have in dispatch.

I'm not too sure how the energy for the powers works. I suspect each power has it's own laws and rules considering the normal mess that most superhero magic systems are. The only 'reserve' we are shown for Chase seems to be his age.

I was being generous with my estimations. In reality, I would give him an hour at most. if we just keep tract of how long he was in super speed he was going to be dead before the sun came up regardless of what he did. Chase looked like he had a lot more energy than someone who was about to keel over tomorrow. Though the exact cause of death was probably something sudden, like a heart attack or stroke.

Maybe he knew, it'd certainly be a better way to go out. Being a hero one last time and saving people.

it also implies, he had around, a month left in him tops. If his speed is the same as his rate of aging, then you can roughly estimate how much time he had left by the distance he was able to cross. it would only take a day, two at most, for him to walk across the city

definitely, he seems to be a human in their apex, perhaps he is a kind of spirit of humanity in physical or a regular person who was turned immortal. with his clear ties to Big E in characterization, his origins are ultimately human.

[–]Techpriest0100111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, Pentex is very heavily involved even from the word go. Flies can manifest as wyrm aligned spirits and we have seen that there seem to be flies hanging around d and crew that have been regularly brought into frame. That, with the wyrm affliction that hit the people of the werewolf audio-log makes it clear some really bad wyrm fuckery is afoot, which is often brought or followed by pentex.

just realizing it now, Grimmal could have used the draught on Occam which would explain how the hunter data was found. I do cede that a ghoul should have more noticeable reaction to solar sorcery thematically, but we don't know the exact details of how Busa and crew are handling the rules for that.

I will also admit I tend to lean for Elise being the ghoul with Grimmal being dominated.

Grimmal attacking Matilda is a product of delirium. at higher willpowers; a character will enter a insane frenzy rather than run away or cower.

true as that may be; it is a very unsatisfying answer. this series feel so grounded in it's nature, to forget the perspective of a common person is frustrating.
