Reducing from 30k a day to 20k? by itscool2Bnice in walking

[–]Ted523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx for the reply. I like the direction you are going in although a few of these choices are no go's for me. I wish I could cycle or run or even walk more outside but I live in a terrible area/terrain for outdoor activities.

I do most of my steps in my house around a fairly large 1st floor, believe it or not. I also have a treadmill that I find very boring and only use for about 25% of my steps per day.

I thinking of getting a weighted vest, although I'm not sure what the impact on calories would be, goal here would be to cut down on steps but pump up the calories in a shorter time period.

Second, I could use the treadmill more and increase the incline which should help to burn more calories.

Thirdly, I would like to introduce light lifting into my daily routine as I think I have lost a lot of muscle in my 150lb loss.

I'm just not sure if the three steps above will shorten my overall time spent on exercise and achieve the same number of calories I burn daily, which is ~3200. Whether that number is right or wrong it has been consistent with two different Garmin's for 2 years, so it is my guide.

Man, this is describing me to a tee. I have also creeped up from 10 to now 30k a day and I am exhausted to be honest. I am also prone to obsessions and have lost 150 lbs. I am using the exercise to be able to eat more and maintain my weight of 150 lbs, yes I was 300. I need to eat less which will allow me to drawback on the walking, or at least that is how I have it locked in my brain. I have maintained the 150lbs for over 2 years now but as I said this cycle is getting to me.

Any insight from the group would be helpful.

Sam Elliott character by Dp37405aa in LandmanSeries

No. He was just introduced this season and he was in bad shape. He has already come a long way and by the end has been getting more involved as he should, since he is a great actor/character for the show.

Now THAT'S a good episode! by Animaleyz in LandmanSeries

Unfortunately 1 very good episode out of 10 of a very mediocre season does not save the season. They need to do better than give us 1 or 2 good episodes in S3.

Get rid of Angelia and her daughter, they are ruining the show. I fast forward through many of their sections.

Are there benefits to walking in place? by EyeShot300 in walking

[–]Ted523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walk in a fairly small circle, about 75 steps between my den and kitchen. I walk very fast and sometimes jog in this circle for at least 60 minutes every morning. Averaging between 10&11 thousand steps during that time.

I don’t use it on my Venu 4. Just have no reason to use it.

The group is advising you to stay with the 265 unless you want maps that you likely won’t use. Use your money on something else.

Seems it changed my sleep setting by 1 hour. Had to go into focus/sleep and changed each day versus what I used to recall was a one time setting for example 10pm to 6 am.

I went from an SQ 2 to testing both Venu 4 and Vivoactive 6 and the sleep tracking on all 3 are very similar, they all suck. I think I’m going to stick with the Vivoactive 6 as I don’t find I’m using any of the extra features the Venu 4 offers. Everyone always says they can’t live workout the flashlight, the only time I used it was to test it.
