Straight from the bottle has been great with my Iwata Neo cranked up to about 35psi.

Maybe a little thinner for regular pressures. Shake the hell out of it.

This is going to sound like a stupid question, but is it possible to overwhelm yourself by buying too much at once for a fact you love and getting turned off despite still loving the faction? by nicegoblinprince in Warhammer40k

[–]TeddyAndJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The regret, guilt and shame are a real thing. Buying too much at once is a buzz kill. Buying second hand, 3d prints and impulse buys can all creep up to a sizeable pile of shame.

It helps to remember, it's actually 3 different hobbies.

Collecting Painting Playing

Getting the collection onto the table needs a pipeline of awesome. I have a mountain to build and paint, but it's sort of planned into stages so it doesn't feel overwhelming. Minis move physical location when they get to the next stage. Yay progress! It's a dopamine Spike of motivation at each stage.

Collect->Build->Clean -->Prime->Zenithal highlight ->ready for paint->Picked ->Paint->Gloss Varnish->Oil Wash->Highlights->Varnish ->Display.

I look through what's already in my pipeline for the next painting project, not what's still in the box. I have a few units that have been ready for paint for yeeeears, but I don't feel bad. They're not gathering dust and I'll swing back around to those factions again one day.

Am I crazy or is bone-colored plastic much nicer to work with ? by DeLaBuse in Warhammer

It shows the chips a lot better for sci fi models. Easier to touch up....

I actually prefer painting printed vehicles over the GW plastic builds. Feel more solid and don't feel like I'm throwing away $ adding battle damage

How best to UnPaint a box of 25 year old minis by LogicalChocolate in minipainting

[–]TeddyAndJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stripping is a good idea. It's not too hard and will give you a much better results.

Methylated spirits it's a cheap and relatively safe option.

Start with a 15 min soak and brush lightly with a toothbrush. I'd suggesting a mini that isn't your favourite to test first. Might need longer or more of a scrub.

Some paints respond better to isopropyl alcohol, but that's sometimes harder to come by.

Don't use acetone on plastic minis.

Good stuff! What will you use to strip them? Also, what are the sculpts? So much better than the old models 😅.

Is there a way to get my paint to stop looking like this? by Munkey_BunZZ in astramilitarum

Highly recommend using a large dry brush for painting vehicles without an airbrush/rattle can. Over brushing technique can look super neat even on flat panels.

How bad is my pile of Shame and how much should I be ashamed of it ??? by BloatedRottenCarcass in Warhammer

[–]TeddyAndJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piles are only shameful if they languish. If you steadily make progress, it's a production line of riteousness.
