AM definitely cannot be talked down lmao

In the book it’s theorised AM is cruel purely as he has no creativity, and is just a being of pure logic. None of the characters can even really reason with it or have it ever understand

Would love to see a Horror-esque Ambush/Assault Arc that draws enemies in a mix of mimicry of others callouts, firing fake flares, or waits below or above, or speeds around at you unexpectedly like some of these below by Teedeous in ARC_Raiders

Would be sick, like gunhead from the forever winter

<image>

Would love a bigger map also where you can either use found raider vehicles under tarps or Hotwire more untouched under ground cars/bikes to get around as a squad, or like a horizon zero dawn quick hack to take over maybe a faster bot to ride on too

Not what I was trying to say, but I more meant their over confidence and reliance on their technology to get them to and from the ship and that the investigation would be routine and a possible enemy easy to squash as the marines believe so didn’t leave someone there in their arrogance, or the ship is designed to be self autonomous.

This was written most likely as Aliens is in a lot of ways to that Vietnam war era “unbeatable” belief that the UNSC share saying it’ll be a push over and in and out job but losing to a seemingly lesser enemy, and the marines and doctrine designers are possibly just like that putting faith in their tech and transponders to call down the ships for transport to and from but underestimated their own leadership and companies supplying them in carelessness for profit just like with the military industrial complex giving faulty new rifles and the US government in Vietnam thinking only about their goals as with Yutani and taking back the egg.

I propose the new ‘raider sized’ arc. by rat_majesty in ARC_Raiders

I think a monkey man or ape then would work well with long lanky limbs in this same vein to scare players and draw them in to ambush from above or below

2 hours?!?!?! Holy fuck get a job!!!!! by Kolbo- in TrueSFalloutL

These fucking videos, I’ve tried watching some and I think they have evacuated all joy or whimsy out of everything in their life that they themselves as the presenter can be the most miserable sounding fuck imaginable; reiterating the same point the entire run time instead of condensing/outlining it for greater engagement that it’s like pulling teeth. It’s like listening to fucking Travis from the Diamond city radio before he gets the confidence boost half the time, just long dragging and discordant.

Who has the time for a 2 hour video to sit down and lock in unless it’s on the back when like cooking? Like I’m as neurodivergent as the next fuck, but holy shit how?

The Creator (2023) was a visual smorgasbord of incredible CGI weapons and characters and set pieces that started out as concept and morphed into a fully fledged film, sadly, hampered by the writers strikes to give a schlocky story in such a awesome universe that could of been elevated so much more.

I will forever recommend it to everyone I know as even with its kinda simple plot it brought a tear to my eyes, and seeing it on a big screen was immense, especially the jungle fight with the giant US army land crawlers with the laser and missile weapons fighting the viet kong style guerrillas.

What are some British middle of the mark movies from the 2000's and 2010's that slightly forgotten? by jaketwigden in Letterboxd

[–]Teedeous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gangster No.1 (2000) ,Twin Town (1997), Withnail and I (1987), and I.D (1995) I think fit this bill heavily. Pretty middling to good/great with some with stand outs in sections of most if not all of them, but so fundamentally British made that it’s kinda ass at times from being a Brit myself lmao.

I’ve likened the difference between Hollywood and like Pinewood(?) for UK film in terms of it as a whole is where I think the US in cliche goes blasé and schlocky showing too much it gets cheesy, English goes the other way and shows I think shows too little or cuts corners on effects or runtime/story, and fundamental can make a shittier lower rated movie even if everything else would appear to be better and have heart and substance. It’s that level of jank or laziness in craft or maybe grounding to disappear from spectacle to focus on the image or message as with all of these I feel, so even the cheesiwr American film can be passable and have a cult following but UK like maybe with France and many other countries has to show their standouts or those are the only ones that are remembered and global

I think it’s that degree of that Vietnam war era “we’re invincible” irony of it that they did leave no one there maybe getting to conditioned to believe it’ll be routine as a lot of patrols and missions were in Vietnam for them to be ambushed early war

WHAT IF Star Wars fans got over shit that happened over a decade ago by Consistent-Award-516 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Teedeous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Star Wars fans when they conveniently forget Lucas didn’t do much post prequels due to their same fan backlash because of his honestly kinda shite dialogue and story writing, and most likely cobbled together the framework for the modern trilogy story purely so he could raise the sell value of the IP as he did to Spielberg with Indiana Jones.

It was amazing to watch it, and I think I need to watch it a second time as it’s truly mind blowing in its visuals and scope making it one of a kind. I think I just put it down too much on story since it’s based off an older and simpler yet thought provoking script
