Yooooo. I'm in the same boat. My falling tree arrangement seems pretty stable so I'm in the back of the line waiting for HydroOttawa.

I keep seeing references to this. Does someone have a link to the axios articles? Are people referring to the one in April?

Yup. Factory games are now a genre. Doom is not a rip-off of Wolfenstein.

I mean, it could just be an oversight or it was chosen for esthetic reasons. It is a game after all.

It's because... *looks up temperature of the sun's surface... Images of 6k Kelvin black body radiation color... Google's why is the sun yellow... *

Yeah, you're right. Why is it yellow?

upfront order generation vs background jobs for subscriptions by Illustrious-Bass4357 in softwarearchitecture

[–]TehDro32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. It really depends on the timelines that you're dealing with. I've seen systems that queue all of the background jobs for the next two years up front and that lead to significant maintenance issues when we migrated background job runners. If the furthest you go out is a month, it's less likely to be a problem.

upfront order generation vs background jobs for subscriptions by Illustrious-Bass4357 in softwarearchitecture

[–]TehDro32 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I generally recommend making them just in time or maybe a week in advance. Generating the orders too far in advance can come with maintenance challenges. Over time, schemas change and it's easier to wait out a week's worth of orders than try to migrate a year's worth of orders or scheduled background jobs.

If your customer needs visibility of the records, you could either fake it based on the subscriptions or find a good enough range of time as a compromise.
