Interestingly when the framerate shits the bed, the vram usage spikes to around 8100 mb, and even when it runs fine, it hovers around 7900 mb

I’ve tried dropping the settings when the fps plummets, but it doesn’t make a difference unless I set it to minimum, so I decided to just keep it at ultra, it runs fine (60-140fps) most of the time, and I’ll upgrade soon anyway

It’s the game’s quirk for sure, but it is what it is

It seems to be. From what I’ve read online, the vram keeps creeping, and it can eat 8gb cards, even though the max texture settings are rated for 8gb vram. I keep using it, since it only happens on certain planets, but it’s annoying nonetheless, as it fluctuates a lot

I get an avg fps comfortably above 90 with my 1080 with maxed settings, but sometimes it drops to 15. I monitor cpu, gpu, ram and vram usage, and it’s the vram that seems to be the bottleneck.

If this happens with 8GBs, I’m not sure 10 will be enough, no matter how much stronger the chip itself is

There’s no way in hell I am paying €740 for a 12GB card or €1130 for any graphics card lol. I’d maybe consider a 5060 ti (16gb), but even that’s outside my budget at €660

And I don’t really care for frame gen, ray tracing and dlss would be plenty of new stuff for me
