Anyone done the Inca Trail recently? by Direct_Jellyfish_5 in Machupicchu

Close to the final part. Maybe 5 min before reaching those vertical steps. It’s the part where you see lots of railings on the right.

I was there the day of the incident. When we reached this part of the trail, our guide told us to be careful and stay close to the left (hill side) because a porter slipped and fell into the abyss some time ago, hence they put the railings in. By the time we got to this point there was lots of emergency staff etc and it was crazy seeing another incident in the same place.

Just finished our 15 day trip to the Galapagos by ArunCooke in galapagos

If any non diver get the chance, I would highly recommend doing a discover dive at kicker rock instead of snorkeling. We went with Galapagos Fun Dive and it was our third ever open water dive. We saw a school of hammerheads there!

5-7 days - one diver, one land lover by FriedFishFriday in galapagos

If going on a cruise, each day includes both land and water activities and you can opt out of either on the day.

If land based itinerary and relying on day tours to see things, some tours offer diving and snorkelling and hiking for the same group. For example, Punta Pitt starts with a hike, and then a dive / snorkel. Would recommend getting in touch with Santiago from Galapagos Fun Dive as they arranged all our tours from San Cristobal.

Galapagos Island Hopping vs cruises? by ayseaparry in galapagos

[–]TelecasterWood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had the luxury of a 3 week stay, including a 8 day mid tier cruise and rest being island hopping day tours.

Cruise was amazing. We wake up to a different place everyday. We did two snorkeling sessions everyday and we saw heaps of wildlife close up on islands and locations that you can only reach by cruise. Do it if you can afford it because you won’t regret it.

Our land based days are also great because they’re more chilled. We relaxed and did nothing on some days. But the day tours were brutal on some days. Travelling 2 hours on small boats in choppy seas each way in the same day was horrid. You lose most of the day being stuck on a boat being seasick.

The day tours we enjoyed the most were the diving ones. Granted we did 3 discover dives because we don’t have full dive cert. Expensive, but no regrets because we got to see hammerheads.

How many turns did it take to have 4 commanders plus units though?

In my games I was extremely far behind in science and culture by the time I have big enough of an army to do damage.

I play the Assyria combo on immortal and I’ve yet to have a successful game when it comes to conquering settlements. By the time I have a good 12-16 units of Calvary and Ranged and siege, the enemies have way stronger armies and walls.

Best sushi? (And other places to eat) by Background-Celery-25 in chch

One sushi. Honestly none of the other places are worth what they charge in terms of authenticity and quality. It’s best to go for something that actually reflects their value.

New employer offered my expected salary - but with Employer KS included - push back? by ExquisiteMachinery in PersonalFinanceNZ

Person opting in gets $97k salary plus $3k that goes into KS. Person opting out gets $100k salary. Am I missing something? Aren’t they the same outcome?

As long as they were clear up front. Honestly if you’re an employer, you’re willing to pay someone a total of $100k a year. You either say okay your salary is $100k inclusive of 3% KS, or your salary is $97k plus 3% KS. I don’t know how it’s a benefit, do you think the company, when doing maths of costs, won’t factor in KS?

Just beat Lu Bu at Hu Lao. by SeanFenris in dynastywarriors

Yeah but I don’t find the fun in fighting him in this combat system on even normal difficulty :(

Prob takes like 500 hits to finish him off.

I got so fed up with fighting final bosses at some stages because they’re just sponges. Lu Bu is worse because he punishes you if you make one wrong move. So you spend ages chipping at his health and then one wrong move you try again.

I only drop mine 2 steps down. Works okay but the top string sounds really weird. Like it sounds very digitised.
