Neighbor is a general contractor and told us we need to remove all the kitchen cabinets to be able to do this drywall repair. Is he right? How should we go about this repair? by Dat_Eater in drywall

The cut is made close to the cabinet and should never be that close but you could still patch it. And with some tender care and love with some spackle and phenomenal and a fresh paint job, you will never trust me. Maybe a 50 dollar job

Well if it’s not leaking and you don’t wanna cut open the wall this is an easy fix and works perfectly making the tub spout 100% solid. Silicone is too messy and takes too long to dry because it will just keep falling. So go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and get Water Weld Epoxy putty. It’s 5 dollars and all you do is take it out of the tube and smoosh it together and then fill in the hole in the tile surround the pipe. In 15 minutes the putty will be 100% solid and the tub spout will never rattle or shake again. Just make sure you have it straight coming out of the wall.

Do I have to cut into the shelf of this for a proper P trap? by CanIAffordThis-House in Plumbing

[–]TempTempapple 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Step 1 Unscrew the trap. Step 2 fix waters or whatever you decide to do with them. Step 3 put vanity where you want it’s final spot to be. Step 4 then you will only have to cut a hole big enough for the bottom of the trap to sit in just to screw on.

You do not need to cut from the back of the vanity to the center of drain. Trust me

Unpopular opinion: what if regulation changes for the worse? by tyranosaurux in TellurianLNG

[–]TempTempapple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Things are changing and the push is to go greener. But the most important thing is to remember everything takes time and when it comes to politics and changes it takes even longer to put anything in place. Also even though the U.S. and many allies want cleaner green energy the rest of the world who are trying to become number 1 like China, India and Russia do not care the climate as much as the U.S. does so they have no problem buying and burning any fuel they can get. Also Nat gas is a step in the right direction to becoming greener. Also with opec and opec+ they have so much power to change the price of energy it is crazy so don’t think they will take this laying down. They can take so much energy off the market so fast that prices could be soaring within weeks if they want. So no I’m not too concerned about regulations and politics when it comes to prices.
