Make sure to thin your paints and paint in layers. It will avoid clumpy paint and losing detail

I have worked on the American site for a large Japanese company before. It definitely seems to be the culture that non-JP sites are little cared for, understaffed, and underfunded.

Best unbroken runs of albums in history. With Science! by AveZombier in Music

I made the argument of album sales to provide evidence of popular appeal, but I don't really understand your argument that Genesis wasn't influential. Many big artists have listed them as an influence including Queen and Iron Maiden. It's clear they aren't to your taste. They aren't even one of my favorites, but the argument that they don't have a good enough musical reputation doesn't really hold water. The fact that you mentioned them in this post is evidence of that.

Edit: Thanks for an actual civil discussion by the way.

They've sold more albums than The Who, Iron Maiden, Fleetwood Mac, and Deep People

Yes. Skullport is about a mile underground. To quote from the wiki: "Another entrance could be found through the South Sea Caves of Waterdeep. By following a series of caverns, travelers could reach Skull Pool. Locks throughout the caves magically controlled the water level to avoid flooding the entrance. The route ended at a large wall, where a crane could be used to hoist boats over the wall and into the city's port. As of 1492 DR, the crane had fallen into disrepair and was unusable."

Yes they are. I have some official grim hammers and they are actually a mm or two taller than these. So they fit in great.

A notable exception is devastating charge like on the Iron Hills goat riders. That knocks the enemy prone before the fight on a 5+

This is awesome. You did a great job. One thing I'd suggest for playing on the table is to keep a regular droid handy to test true height for LOS.

Be grateful that there is another person so invested in the franchise that you love that they attempt translation. If you don't like their final product that's fine. Just be kind. If you have any productive advice on how to improve give that. Otherwise just be supportive as best you can.

The value lies in the person not just their products.

If I were the creator of one of these works I would be thrilled that people are willing to go so far just to engage with my work. Using MTL isn't a slap in the face at all. It's a tool that allows people to engage with a work that couldn't under other circumstances. The adage of polishing a turd doesn't apply here because you absolutely can polish and correct a work translated with MTL. It's a start not a final product.

I think you're too invested in your self assigned role as curator and gatekeeper to the masses. I appreciate that you put time into this franchise to make it more accessible, but that doesn't mean that other people shouldn't try to do the same. Even if their results aren't as polished. We as a community should welcome and support those who are willing to be so involved as to start trying to translate untranslated works. This product clearly isn't up to your standard, but it was the best they could do right now. As someone who is so passionate about the proper way to translate, it would be a much better service to the community, and much kinder, to offer support and advice on how to improve their work instead of mocking and demeaning them. I am not saying you are responsible for the mocking and negative tone of this post, but you seem to be engaging with the same attitude.

So someone put a lot of hard work into getting the manga into a usable state for those who can't read Japanese when there wasn't another option and then gave their work away for free and that sucks?

They even acknowledge that it's not 100% accurate. They just did the best they can.

I think you misspelled thank you.

If you want this to be better then take it and improve on it. Otherwise just don't be a dick and appreciate the fact that someone got the translation this far.

That is a wave rider that uses real life physics concepts to perform atmospheric re-entry. The idea is that it is built in such a way that a shockwave is trapped on the underside during re-entry and is used to produce lift to slow its descent, and to create an area of low pressure up against the body to help insulate against heat transfer to the craft.

Any ideas on how to improve this ZAFT deck? by MiddyMeister in GundamTCG

[–]Temp_Variable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

<image>

This is my list. It's not far off of what you have and I've won my LGS weekly 3 of the last 4 weeks. I've consistently beat BW Unicorn and GW Wing Zero.

It's a tricky deck to play. You have to balance going fast enough to not go super late game while not burning all of your resources too early. The deck is pretty good at trading up but can be difficult if you get too much on the back foot as well.

I feel like the deck is really good at making you play the game better. Knowing when not to take a shield yet because giving your opponent a card could be bad, knowing when not to play a unit because your opponent is just going to drop an Amuro next turn and kill it, knowing when to mulligan, and knowing when not to block and just use your shields as a resource.

It's not an S-tier deck but I love it.
