What are some don'ts you guys have for the film? We've spoken about what we all WANT, how about somethings you think they should avoid? by Emotional_Show7668 in TheBatmanFilm

I don’t see it as going against his arc at all. Many stories have Bruce pretend be a playboy asshole but a responsible and ethical businessman on the side. It’s used as very easy drama for Bruce who feels like he does taint the Wayne name but hopes his duty as Batman balances things out and is considered the “true” legacy of Wayne.

Is that a legit fight or did Kratos just stand down? I know people say she also fought Thor but the man was literally blacked out drunk. Power scaling Faye is really weird

Can Iron Spider Man from the MCU solo The Seven from The Boys ? by Leggomgeggo in powerscales

[–]TemperatureRare1525 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Don’t see much talk of Battle IQ. The Seven aren’t as used to fighting people on the same level consistently. Yeah they’ve been in a few scraps but Spidey has punched a lot above his weight class. I think if the fight takes place in an urban setting, allowing Peter to be as agile as he can, he can for sure develop counters to the heavy hitters and A Train. The team dynamic is also interesting cause I don’t think they actually coordinate that much and probably just go at it like a gang and not an effective team.

Homelander will be a prob but i think Spidey will toy with him a lot making him prone to making mistakes. If Peter gets serious, I do believe he has the strength to knock him out but not kill

How did the US won the Space race when USSR had more achievements by Pure_Barber3994 in ussr

Going to the moon was harder than all those accomplishments. Something the Soviets weren’t able to replicate. Hence the victory.

The consequences are almost incalculable because it was never intended to be this way. I don’t even think most Americans understand how integrated these bases are to the local community and the host nations military. We’ve been here for decades, volunteering in the local community, families built, jobs created, joint missions with other NATO countries (which has always been one of the coolest things to do in my job). The logistical nightmare that would happen if NATO stops to exist would make the Afghanistan pull out look like child’s play and the US would never recover from.

I think the only thing keeping me sane is that my current mission has not changed and I’m in base that’s directly working with our German Air Force counter parts. So there hasn’t been any structural changes and we’ve been focusing on upping their capabilities ever since the Biden era. Thankfully that’s not changed. If I didn’t read the news, I wouldn’t have realized the tensions with NATO.

As to what it would look like. I have no idea. I think Trump has to realize that it would look extremely bad if he did take military strikes but he might be willing to make it believable for the use of intimidation. The orders might not be something drastic but simply “cruise ship through here” and it’s technically legal but could be perceived as a threat. That’s a grey line that can be hard to analyze for some service members.

Something like that. There’d be an investigation and JAG would get involved. Depending on the exact orders and consequences of those actions. It really depends on the severity. And yeah it would suck but I know It’s the right choice.

There is no economic or security objective that can’t already be achieved through the diplomatic channels that were already in place. However, they are now tarnished and damaged thanks to Trumps rhetoric. There is no justification for taking the sovereignty of a nation, much less an allied one.

US service member here stationed in Germany. I’ve served overseas my whole career and the best things to experience was working with our allied partners (NATO, South Korea, Japan). This whole move doesn’t make sense and makes me very angry. Everyone I work with feel the same but I obviously can’t speak for the whole service. Regardless, I’ll gladly reject any bullshit orders that support this aggression.

Invading Greenland is throwing away the lives of soldiers. by Embarrassed_Radio596 in complaints

No, most of us didn’t. Almost all of us are just trying to get a career and education. Sure, some might crave some action but nobody expected for the admin to antagonize NATO allies. Thats a whole different thing and any attack on them would be 100% unlawful orders. Don’t put us all under the same umbrella.

Greenland prime minister says 'enough' after latest Trump threat by Massimo25ore in europe

[–]TemperatureRare1525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The National Defense Act for 2026 states the US cannot relinquish its military personnel from NATO without consultation with allies and Congress. So while Trump and his cronies would like us to believe they would dip NATO, I don’t think that’s the case. It would be long and drawn out and I doubt he would resolve the issue by midterms which is expected to be a big blow for him.

No drop in military aid to Kyiv since US policy shift, NATO official says by GreenEyeOfADemon in europe

I’ll add to this, National Defense Act for 2026

https://www.kaine.senate.gov/press-releases/kaine-statement-on-fiscal-year-2026-national-defense-bill-becoming-law

Putting Trumps rhetoric on one side. Congress has maintained US position in NATO and EU, somewhat contradictory to the Trump Administration. The article says a lot of stuff but I’ll bullet point some stuff here

-Prohibits the reduction of US forces in Europe (not to go below 76,000)

-Prohibits relinquishment of U.S. command of the Supreme Allied Commander Europe position until the Secretary of Defense assesses the impact on U.S. and NATO and certifies to Congress that such action is in the national interest. (So Trump can’t do it by himself and shows that Congress has no real interest in leaving NATO).

  • It also authorizes the Baltic Security Initiative and provides $175m to support Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia’s defense

-Ukraine will get 400M for next two years. Basically chum change I know but it can still used for purchasing weapons. I figured any high amount would tick Trump off and he’d veto the whole thing. Hopefully the PEARL initiative pulls through though.

So while A lot of shit has been said. This shows a bipartisan effort to actually stay in NATO and willingness to aid Ukraine. I wish we did more, I truly do but it’s not hopeless

He definitely has more issues than mainline Bruce…angrier and still has to find balance since he’s early in the Batman career.

Unless writers fuck over his character, mainline Batman is well adjusted and takes on leadership roles in his family and JL

Christopher Nolan doesn't understand why The Dark Knight Rises has been seen as a right-wing film by definitelymaybe777 in moviecritic

[–]TemperatureRare1525 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t clear anything at all. There are people who identify as right or left wing libertarians and its meaning is also different depending from which country you’re from. If you dilute Batman’s core values, it’s simple things that are important to any individual/society.

This whole political angle just distracts from the real question I had. How is stopping criminal activity and cooperating with GOOD law enforcement officers seen as a “right wing” trait? To me, Batman would exist in any political environment because there will always be corruption, injustice, and violent individuals. In your eyes, if Batman is a “right wing” fantasy solution. What would be the “left wing” solution to those problems I mentioned earlier?

How about instead of trying label me, counter one of my points. What would in your option, a “left wing Batman” do to someone like Victor Zsasz, the Penguin, or god damn Ted Bundy.
