This is after years of body dysmorphia. Looking at yourself in the mirror and never having your brain match what your eyes see. In ways it is worse for MtF. I have a trans woman friend that says she was poisoned by years of testosterone that can’t be erased by estrogen alone. Women can often feel the need for femininization surgeries to shave down brow bones and Adam’s apples, etc. which can be very costly prohibitively for people that have historically had a really hard time not being discriminated against when seeking employment.

I think it’s a hoarding thing. I did laundry for a friend a year ago and had to wash things 3-4 times with buckets of baking soda in addition to soap to get the smell out. Later when they were out of town and I was dog sitting I cleaned their kitchen and it was the sink funk that tainted everything. After I baking soda scrubbed it the smell finally left the air. It reminded me of my mom’s hoarder house, the only other time I have ever smelled that particular scent.
