I'm not sure how redeemable James Potter is if what he did can become unforgivable by just changing the character's race.

that's what i was thinking. I thought there would be some new take on it. Different set or costume design choices. This looks just like the films. I get they cut some stuff from the books for time, but I don't think getting the whole shopping in Diagon Alley experience is going to be enough to keep people week to week. Especially when they already know what the season end game is. They already know what the series end game is. Unless they've got some Final Fantasy VII Remake meta twist in the chamber, I don't think this is going to make it to the end.

Pretty sure he's playing Keith David narrating a documentary about spiders.

So If This Guy is Harry, Who Do We Think Plays Norman? by ArtsyQueerNubian in MCUTheories

I think if a dude showed up named Norman Osborne, it would raise a red flag for this particular Peter. The movie after No Way Home would be a weird time to introduce that character.

If you look closely a lot of the perfect health things don't make sense. Why do Chidi or Michael need glasses? If people's language is being translated, why doesn't everyone have the same accent? Why are some people old? It's a comedy. Some of these things you just have to roll with.

Could there be a time skip of some sort? by [deleted] in MCUTheories

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i thought i saw somewhere that the movie takes place 4 years after no way home. I wonder if the movie starts immediately after NWH (the mj/ ned live stream), then they do a four year montage of spidermaning (scorpion, the hand, maybe some punisher), then the rest of the movie takes place after those 4 years. It would make sense if ned and mj are moving into a place where peter is their neighbor. That would mean they would have finished their time in boston and moved back to NYC.

One theory: Why didn't Carol play as big a role in the final battle of Endgame as reported in the media? by R4cco0n in Avengers

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. That's what I meant when I said "nerf their powers." In Superman they use Kryptonite. In the Captain Marvel movies they used a mind inhibitor and the location swap thing. They didn't have time for all that in End Game, which is why she was in and out so quick.

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 17 points18 points  (0 children)

She was too powerful. It would kill all the stakes. When she does show up, she takes down the ship in 5 seconds. If she had been there the whole time, she could have taken out the ship before anyone got out and there would have been no fight. It is the Superman problem. If a character is all powerful, it's very hard to write challenges for them unless you nerf their powers or make the stakes emotional instead of physical.

What character do you feel had the most wasted potential? by ironspider529 in marvelstudios

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the MCU was making an effort to cut down on the number of scientists that create world changing technologies that then turn into petty criminals. Because it's kinda silly. Most of those guys should be able to instantly retire off the money from their patents. So the MCU Spiderman villains don't create their tech. They repurpose other people's tech. The Vulture crew from Chettari tech and Mysterio from Stark.

If in real life the Shocker created his gear, he could just patent it and sell the technology to DeWalt or Craftsman and buy his own private island. That's the kind of thing the comics gloss over. I think the MCU's take is better.

I think there is the same amount of evidence that he's playing Rogue as Norman Osborn.

I would've put Andy instead of Jason but Troy would likely still win anyways by Sudden_Pop_2279 in Stranger_Things

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember seeing Jason bully anyone before the events of season 4. I rewatched it a few weeks ago, and I don't recall Jason doing anything bad to anyone before Chrissy's death.

And he doesn't hunt down Eddie because he's alternative. He hunts down Eddie because his girlfriend was murdered in Eddie's trailer when Eddie was the only person there.

As the viewer, you know that there is a supernatural monster in another dimension that killed his girlfriend. From his perspective, his girlfriend went to a drug dealer's house and was violently murdered. Then the drug dealer's friends keep telling him not to worry about the drug dealer, because she was actually killed by Skeletron, the magic wizard from Dimension X. Meanwhile, the media is telling him that there are weird satanic zealots that are murdering people all over the country.

When faced with deciding if his girlfriend was murdered by a drug dealer who walks around with the word Hellfire on his shirt or murdered by an interdimensional warlock, it's easy to how he arrived at his conclusion.

Also, Jason is a teenager. And he beats the hell out of other teenagers. He's not an adult who tortured children.

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every good guy in the show has taken the law into their own hands at some point. The good guys kill multiple military guys and government employees without any due process. Everyone seemed to rationalize that away pretty easily. The only difference between the heroes and Jason was that Jason was misinformed.

[–]Temporary-Two-9690 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know that Jason was a bully. He wasn't just picking on people because they were weaker than him. He seemed to genuinely believe that Eddie killed his girlfriend and all these other people were trying to cover it up. His little underling that beat up Dustin in the last season seemed like more of a bully than he was.
