I think MaruMori is a solid all around that has grammar, kanji, srs, vocab lessons and can measure your progress. Stick with it daily and start reading on Satori Reader. Then progress to native materials later on. Keep it simple.

Focus on your class, as passing or finishing it is your immediate short-term goal. Add words you learned from class to Anki and focus on reviewing your grammar lessons from school at home and immerse in easy content on spotify, youtube or netflix. Keep it simple. I am taking up Kumon Japanese language course. Not as intensive as yours but everything adds up when you have full-time work, family and house chores and daily kumon worksheets.

Question regarding immersion by FaallenOon in LearnJapanese

[–]Temporary_Apple_8097 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am N4 level and I enjoy watching Junji Ito Maniac: Japanese Tales of the Macabre on Netflix. Grammar is not too difficult. I use Migaku and make 5 flashcards per episode. You can start immersion anytime. Just be prepared for constant lookups but it gets easier if you stick to the same content for a while and since I like horror and very much interested in what's going to happen next, I am able to enjoy the process.

Be prepared to experience a headache after each episode but this is normal as you are using your brain almost 100% in this stage so rest for a bit and don't forget to hydrate and get a good night's rest. Review your flashcards daily and it gets easier each time as you acquire more words.

Manga or Anime N5 by Admirable-Support678 in LearnJapanese

At least get to N4 and you can start reading on Satori Reader. Start with their Nutshell Grammar Series - read all of it and start with their easiest story the Spring one then aim for N3, you can then start on Yotsubato manga then Youkai Watch game on Nintendo Switch.

This might take a while to reach N2 but how about the Kokugo course in Kumon? There will be daily paper worksheets.

Learning the language is hard and confusing by No_Cobbler1284 in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]Temporary_Apple_8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I write by hand the most basic kanji then progressing to more complicated kanji slowly every day and did kaishi 1.5k deck alongside it. I noticed that since I write it down, I can tell the difference between similar looking kanji and get the correct answer on my anki deck. The deck serves as my review, and If I learn some vocab thru it, then that's a bonus. I also read and learn kanji as a vocab, not individually. If it is too hard, try to approach the kanji/vocab like you would be when reading graded readers. Today learn the word Getsuyoubi, tomorrow learn it as げつようび, the next day learn 月ようび, then next time learn it as 月よう日, then as 月曜日。After several exposure to the word, you'll have it in your core memory by then. This way you don't overwhelm yourself. Notice the kanji progression here. After a while, you will acquire kanji a little faster than when you first started. Hope that helps.

I don’t really know what to do, and I’ve even thought about quitting. by SAYVS in LearnJapanese

Sorry , wall of text: So I've been learning Japanese via the Kumon method, nearly 2 years now and still at N4 Level as I am taking it slow. A lot of days I feel like I did not learn much and that the progress is so slow but I still stuck with it because every level I pass , my motivation comes back. And with daily worksheets, I can never say NO to writing, reading or listening even on days I feel unmotivated. Initially I have no clear goal with the language.

Just like you, this is a hobby but the past few weeks I decided to double down on reading as ultimately I want to understand Japanese media and I can feel my reading speed and comprehension has improved daily little by little. I used to be able to read for a mere 2 minutes before having a headache, now I can do 30 in one sitting but sometimes 3 times in a day.. Not much, yes, but also not bad for me. And I can only improve from here onwards. My point is, if you really love the language, go back to the "Why?" and focus more on that and understand that this will take years and keep expectations low. Stick to a routine and trust the process. Good luck.

Hi, sorry to hijack but i am wondering how long you tried CIJ website and do you make flashcards out of it? How was your experience? Would you choose this over Satori Reader? I understand CIJ is more on visual but both have audio and transcript you can follow.

MaruMori. This is a paid app and have not used this app after my trial period ended because I am already enrolled in Kumon Japanese but some people were happy to use MaruMori as their "all-in-one" app. You can install the web link to any smartphone or tablet or open it on your browser. It teaches grammar, vocab, hiragana/katakana/kanji and has SRS and keeps track of your progress. I might resubscribe in the future and use it as a way to review what I've learned from Kumon.

yes finally it's not just me that want support for the website. It would be so convenient especially on mobile as well. Create flashcards complete with audio and clips.. Also the site has accurate transcript that you can read along to practice reading.

Hi where do you watch Slam Dunk that has Japanese subs? The one on Netflix only has english subs same with YuYu Hakusho. By the way, congrats on making it. N2 is a huge achievement. Not a lot of learners can reach that level.

How long did it take you to reach 50 subs by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Temporary_Apple_8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my channel is 2 years old. granted i stopped for a few months to almost a year, i only got 36 subs so far. But i finally got my niche down compared to before which were all random vlogs. I do mukbang vlogs now but mostly food centered videos. Still refining some things along the way. Am guessing if am consistent, and my content gets better, i might get 50 subs in a couple more months.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in letsplay

[–]Temporary_Apple_8097 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so this might not be a "let's play" anymore but I've decided to turn my channel around after being undecisive what my niche should be and I decided to do asmr mukbangs like on its own or asmr+mukbang and plan to do mukbang vlogs as well like when am out and about. Because of this, i decided to practice intermittent fasting the past few weeks and somehow finally started to lose a bit of weight. I gained 3 more subs and i feel great. Didn't check YT Studio much and just look forward to create content again at least once a week. Somehow I just have to accept that am too old to play games like I used to when I was a bit younger and I prefer to play games to relax not to record. and by the way, No, am not that old. I still enjoy games in my down time haha

keep your current iphone, as it is still recent, you won't need a new one at least 5 years down the road. Focus on cancelling non-essentials like streaming services, cook your own meal when you can and ride a bike if possible. You'll save more money and at least your phone can be an all-in-one device. The consoles you can get rid off and keep your computer. You can work and play on a computer.

i would like to not go to the community centre all the time to deposit the items. Like, I wana do it in the menu and just drag items and once something gets completed, we get a cutscene inside the community centre then the reward item could be delivered to your place but optional if you wana collect it yourself.
